Speaking of linen shirts, the Gaz Man outlet at 401 Tooronga Rd, Hawthorn East (Melbourne) has some pretty decent 100% linen LS shirts on sale for $75. They are undarted and quite blousy, but for those with appropriate builds they might be a good option you can try on locally.

Same outlet has reasonable linen SCs in navy and brown. No 36Rs and the 38 was significantly too big for me, but again, for the bigger guys worth a look I think.

Likely not all that different to the MUJI, although I'm not too familiar with MUJI's field jacket offering at present so cannot comment definitively. I do know that the fit will be considerably trimmer than a proper military manufacturer (e.g. ALPHA). The price is ludicrous, but I bought a SuitSupply piece of outwear similar to a field jacket, and it's going back. It's one of those things where my heart is set on the Aspesi, so I may as well buy that one instead of something else that I'll keep for a while, only to regret having bought in place of the one I really wanted.
*Cue value discussion*

have you tried looking at the Beretta (yes the gun manufacturer) jackets?

And yeah alpha industries run way large so i hear.

If heart is set on aspesi then yeah get it !

The olive green one right?

What inspires people to walk out of the door in the morning, in business attire, in to the heavy rain sans parapluie?

In my case it made no difference. Despite having a nice big umbrella I still got totally soaked. I even had to go to a shop on the way to work and buy some socks so I could change out of the water bags I was walking around in.

Why buy a field jacket just before the start of the Australian summer and start of the northern hemisphere's winter? Prices are going to be high and the chance to wear it is decreasing.
