Seeing as the weather is heating up one's thoughts turn to a large G'n'T on the porch as the sun declines in the west and Kind of Blue drifts into the evening.

So Bombay Saphire yes very nice, Hendricks even better so should one add Martin Miller to the freezer?

The Hendricks has an exceptional and unique taste, so is the Martin Miller in the same league? Haven't been in a bar in Canberra that serves it so no idea.

The best martini I ever had was - I believe - made with Martin Miller, so I'm intending to get some in to the cabinet to confirm this.

Yes, I did. I paid $2.5k for a Tux that even Cutler was complementing me on and only got to wear it once. Goddamn shame.

And just for the record, unlike Shane over at Rochefort, I actually like Hayel and his son - they do good work (expensive but good).

In the end, the tux fit very well except one problem - it did not sit flat across the chest (see picture below). Hayel said it was due to the canvassing rolling up, and nothing could be done about it. I might take it to Bijan on O'Connell street just to get a second opinion. I am $3k in, might as well see if I can finish it.

Bijan > cutler imo

Just received invite for niece's summer wedding; will be in late January (sweltering). Wondering what you blokes would wear; the limitations are that will be outdoor and by beach. I am going to get an excuse to buy a new jacket and trousers so those are what I'd like specific advice on (for everything else you can say brown PTB for shoes etc.). The budget for jacket is $250 and pants is $200... I have probably left out some important info so feel free to ask thanks :)

Me too. Late January. By the beach. I wish I could run my tux! But its probably not appropriate. Goddammit, I need excuses to wear my tux.

Have some in the cabinet and can attest to it being good stuff.

If you guys are buying premium gins at Australian prices you might want to try a better tonic water like Q Tonic. It will improve your GnT noticeably more and doesn't set you back $80 a bottle.

I'd suggest putting away the $250 and saving for a higher budget. You likely won't find anything new of decent quality at that price.

Quote: I'd agree on the budget thing, but if you MUST have new things maybe look into a linen jacket. I know Country Road/Trenery have a few out at the moment which would be within budget.

For my GnT I use Tanqueray 10 with Schweppes Tonic Water. Will Q Tonic be much better?

Where can I get a few bottles to try?

After flogging Rob at a game of weekend tennis, I look forward to my afternoon GnT :D.
