I'm ordering 6 because I just want to drive a white Fiat 500 and chill out in khakis and a Brooks Brothers oxford shirt like your average American in Central Park. You know what I mean?

i would've thought a Holden Commodore down at the Woolpack hotel drinking a VB was more your thing?

Let's not forget a pair of Aquilla square toed loafers that are made in "Italy" and a Van Huessen shirt.

I prefer them not dressed at all! Back from my trip - was able to visit uniqlo in Bangkok . Great stuffs at top prices. Unfortunately sizing was way off small was good fit for me where selves where 1.5 inches too short and medium was way too big on body.Picked up 3 extra fine merino wool cardigans at $50 each , 2 sweat pants 4 pairs of socks, shorts and a washed cotton blazer on sale from 2990 TB down to 1990 TB.Blazer sleeves are short and will ask my tailor to do her best to extract 1 inch. Such a shame couldn't buy their shirts .bloody Asian sizing.

Appreciate the bidding bump. Funny my wife said "Who would want an old jacket like that" (think fxh and a few others share this sentiment).

I really like them and they way they be worn (as per my Tumblr post).

I personally love Barber stuff. I love them being worn over suits. Are you planning on getting another?

Have a couple of Barbours (quilted) and might get a Lavenham jacket (again quilted, as I wear mine so often).

Will keep my eyes peeled for another waxed jacket (might look on a few vintage shops when back in sunny Scotland).

I'm not petepan but here goes;

Long time ago me and my brother Gerry here,
we was strollin' down the long saville row.
All of a sudden, there shined  FXH in the middle of the road.
And he said:

"Show me the best fit in the world, or I'll steal your cops."

Well me and Gerry, we looked at each other,
and we each said... "Okay."

And we showed him the first fit that came to our heads,
Just so happened to be,
The Best fit in the World, it was The Best fit in the World.

Look into my mirror shine and it's easy to see
Oscar and Hunt make one, Patrick and Johnson make three,
It was destiny.
Once every hundred-thousand years or so,
When the loafers come out and the cordorvan doth glow
And the chukka doth grow old

Needless to say, FXH was stunned.
Whip-crack went his Double Monks,
And FXH was done.
He asked us: " Be you Tailors?"
And we said, "Nay. We are but men."

Mirror Shine!
Ahhh, ahhh, ahhh-ah-ah,
Ohhh, whoah, ah-whoah-oh!

This is not The Greatest Fit in the World, no.
This is just a tribute.
Couldn't remember The Greatest Fit in the World, no, no.
This is a tribute, oh, to The Greatest Fit in the World,
All right! It was The Greatest Fit in the World,
All right! It was the best muthafuckin' Fit the greatest fit in the world.

And the peculiar thing is this my friends:
the fit we showed on that fateful night it didn't actually look
anything like this fit.

This is just a tribute! You gotta believe it!
And I wish you were there! Just a matter of opinion.
Ah, fuck! Good God, God lovin',
So surprised to find you can't stop it.

I'm turning 40 tomorrow. I read one of those crappy Esquire articles a few days ago. You know, the 'how to be a man' tripe. This article espoused the idea that when, in very general terms, you think of man, you will be thinking of a man at 40 years of age. Of course given my own chronological situation the concept has stuck in my head somewhat. I certainly feel, in no small part thanks to this forum, that over the last couple of years I have become far more self assured and comfortable with the way I dress and the way I 'look'. So thanks guys icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

There's a bit of a party up at the East Village in (East) Balmain tonight. I gather there are at least of couple of local forum-ites and you'd be very welcome to come by and say hi and join us for a beer or two.

The shirts are well built for the money although I'm a bit stuck with the shoulder width. If I size down to a 15.5 I'm not going to get the collar done up. But it's going to be close. Maybe I could just move the button a 1/4 inch?

Cheers mate, better check my PO box to see if mine have arrived yet and try them on!

Just do some front/side raises every few days until you're shoulders get so jacked they fill the remaining gap.

Severely impoverished by recent onslaught of bills (and recent complete lack of menswear purchasing discipline).

So I consoled myself with a single very restrained online purchase: this Paul Smith "Capello" hat from Farfetch -

Should arrive late next week. Me likely velly much.
