Hi BM

Someone recently posted regarding visiting Suit Supply. Said there were some sizing discrepancies.... I think Fox was on the scent for a suit supply acquisition too...

Thanks DB - discrepancies in sizing meaning between two items tagged the same size, i.e. a quality control issue, or what sometimes happens on SF - where a "sizing discrepancy" is when an item does not fit as one had hoped, LOL!

The guy behind The Nordic Fit has a fair bit on them. Like this: http://thenordicfit.com/item-of-the-week-blue-suitsupply-shirt

He mentioned somewhere that the cheaper shirts weren't great, but the more expensive excellent.

Edit: found where he mentioned it: http://thenordicfit.com/item-of-the-week-printed-cotton-shirt

On suit supply yes I am looking at them, I still can't decided what to do for the wedding, I'd probably look like a dickhead in double breasted though. Too young. Maybe MJ Bales Inverell with a nice tie, maybe my drakes striped, a white linen pocket square and my Brown Double Monks. I wouldn't mind a nice Glen Plaid, like Bond in Skyfall when he's at the Tempory Mi6 HQ. What would you do if you were me?

A how much do want to spend?
B what use would you get out of it post wedding?
C what fabric/colour would suit your complexion/ personality the best?
D in terms if shirts & ties would you have to buy something or have you got sufficient in the wardrobe?
E shoes considering past experience do want need, new shoes? Or is there a pair which will match what ever suit you get?

Damn I just can't explain things : )

It was stated by the member that sizing wasn't accurate, say a 40r fit more like a 38r etc... I hope that cleared things if not muddy the waters...

Heard a rumour you picked some Alden penny loafers, nice hustle man!

A) Around 600

B) Job interviews, when I go out to more formal occasions.

C) No idea. I have light olive skin.

D) I have my Drake's Knitted Tie and my Drake's Silk Striped Tie. I could see myself wearing the stripe.

E) I have the Church's Cowes Double Monks in Brown and Black, and hopefully soon some C&J Captoes in Brown, so I believe I'm covered in the shoe department.

I heard he beat up a little kid and stole them off him.

You're allowed 18 sizing mistakes a year, any more than that and I have to beat you..

Just a reminder about spring cleaning.

Days like today - ideally with a bit more breeze - are an ideal day to hang clothes out.

All your winter clothes especially - all wool clothes - suits, jackets, trousers, hang the out on the clothes line outside for a few hours in shade and breeze.
Kills moths, kills smells, like ciggie smoke etc.
Inspect in daylight, brush all down with stiff brush.

Take your Tailors Chalk and mark any bits of dirt/stains for sponging or a gentle rub with Dry Cleaning Fluid later and also mark places for a proper pressing NOT ironing.

Put winter clothes away in spare room.

Do not go and choof too much or get drunk and forget to bring clothes back in.

Maybe something like this with cotton/wool/linen rather than flannel, casual summer separates. He seems to be wearing pieces which you already own.

Mate I will preface this and say I am not pro at this menswear stuff, so I will give my 2 cents based on what I do know...

The answer first - I reckon midnight navy suit... I think it works well with most skin tones and in a nice shade it stands out from others without being ostentatious. I've got one shade in particular in mind, by Guabello for hugo boss (yes yes thats right its a fused pos go ahead judge me im not very good at this... yet) but can't find it online, so the below is an approximation. With the Guabello one I think it stands out because in sunlight its obviously navy but in other lights it looks very dark...

Anyway this is a bit of an approximation, sorry, all I could find but on the plus side I'm sure MJ Bale and the like will have similar offerings to this

I noticed you said job interviews, a suit like this would be good I think. To the uninitiated it would be a nice suit, to the initiated it would seem you have made an effort to be a little different. On a separate note for me I like to take note of a candidate's shoes. Not that I judge aquila (i.e. its not neessarily a deal breaker) but if you came in wearing nice shoes, I would think hmmm... that's a bit more attention to detail than usual.

Ok what I'm about to say next (re shirt and tie combo) may or may not be sartorially correct for weddings, I don't really know, but your drakes knitted tie might be good with a light pink shirt? LIke this or probably a bit lighter?

I wore this to a good friend's wedding recently and think its a good way to show support - my tag line was "I'm wearing blue, if its a baby boy, and pink, if its a baby girl"
