Just to subvert the conversation, what do people think about formal pants with a denim jacket?

By the standards of Australian TV, those Block judges are doing a bang up job--despite the jeans.

Yeah agreed, it is interesting to see what they don each week because they both are 'stylish' and care about their wardrobe, and are always pushing the boundaries. Helps a young'n like me.... also interesting with the 2 contrasting styles between Neil and Darren.

In the above example, and with many of Neils getups, I just think a nice pair of pants would look soo much better. But it is always jeans.

For those watching the Origin Decider tonight, keep an eye on Darren Lockyer... His last suit was very passable amongst typical sports presentor garb...

Today Show Karl, also wears some nice jackets at times...

Rhodes & Beckett sale has a bunch of pocket squares for $9 in case anyone's interested. Mostly pretty heinous but some are passable. Possibly some interesting belts too that I must go back and take a better look at.

North Sydney advertising copywriter circa 1989 but you forgot the pony tail and the paisley tie.

I think Darren Lockyear is dressed by Cloakroom/Pistols at Dawn. A Brisbane based clothing company. I think he has been wearing a knit or plain grenadine tie as I think they stock a few there made by Dormeuil. He sticks out like a saw thumb when compared to his peers.

The judges on the block, dont dress too bad, Neil dresses a bit better than the younger guy. Wish they wore some pants other than just jeans though.

I just had a look at the belts and they look narrower than what I would use for a dress belt. My preference is a width of 1.25" - any wider looks too casual and any narrower just doesn't look right to my eyes.

Those fabrics that you gave me were really nice JM. Where did you take the photos? On a deck?

gerry - one way to work it out is visually what seems to look ok - - the higher the waist/rise the thinner the belt and conversely lower = wider.

It does depend on belt loops and waist band though

I swear I saw darren wear dub monks during origin 2. I also watch him when the broncos play and he only had like 3 ties. 2 glen plaids + I think a maroon one
