Wouldn't want them bringing in mad tie disease...

I have a pair of Simpsons in 8uk and go the same on the rain last but I have lots o heel slippage and it just feels to big.

Will putting an insole in work?

Putting in an insole will fill up space in the shoe but it will also raise the heel. For me, this just results in painful rubbing and blisters. I have found that a tongue pad does the job better by filling space up in the vamp, but it's more permanent as you have to affix it to the tongue.

Interesting article in The Age today about signature scents and what's office-appropriate.

http://www.theage.com.au/executive-style/style/blogs/stitched-up/sniff-out-your-signature-scent-20130620-2ol0f.html

The article recommended spraying on your chest, which gave rise to this exchange:

Excuse my ignorance here but if I'm wearing a shirt and tie, how will any scent from my chest come through?
• Why wouldn't it? People can still smell your farts when you're wearing pants can't they?

That's how all the shoes I wear crease. And I find I get a better fit with that lacing pattern. Just how it is.

I recently returned a pair of shoes to the UK to size down a half. I knew they were too big as soon as I put them on, and it was great to get the proper size in the end.

Auspost airmail w/ insurance $100

edit: oh I see they're MTOs. Thick socks/ insoles/ tongue padding have helped me

I read years ago that one should spray cologne into the air in front of you and then walk into it. Don't know if it works as i have never tried it and most of my AS Cologne is splash on. The article was also online in todays SMH.

Not what I was going for.....but oh well....

Speaking of scents I find they are only noticed by women...if ever... and there is no real 'work appropriateness' to them unless your one of those guys who bathes in a bottle before hand.

Can't weight to see the trousers! What where fabrics are your first public ones going to be? (assuming the current shipment is just a test?)

Yeah I'm stuck between trying to get them to fit or nothing. I love the shoe so ill prob toy and get them to fit or put them up for sale.

Worst part I got them months go before the dollar plummeted so if I replace them it will cost much more.

Mostly uninspired and boring as crap - well... maybe...

But I just went in there this morning and scored the most kick-ass suit in human history. The only thing about the deal that pissed me off was that it was only 40% off.

Suit is a dark purple-and-burgundy window-pane in (I think) 90% wool/10% cashmere, peaked lapels, narrow waist, double vents, fairly narrow taper on the pants. It is what you might call "directional" (some might prefer to use the word "faggy") and would not be suitable for an undertaker.

But it's going to rock on me.

Anyone watch that little Paris kitchen show (on SBS now if you're quick)?

My wife loves it. The host is achingly beautiful. Easy to get a crush on that's for sure.

I want her to marry me.

Or just like hang out for a few days.

Plus, the food looks great. I even started looking at jobs in Paris because of the show.

I also enjoyed Chinese Culinary Adventure earlier in the year and developed a crush on that host.
