Dang. Tried on my new G&G double monks last night (they had arrived via UPS). At 9.5UK, they are just a tad small. Very tight across the vamp - I can't do up the front buckle - and slightly cramped in the toe box.

Good old shoe sizing. I take a 9UK in Loake Bedales, 9 to 9.5 in Santoni, 44EU in various low-end brands. "It just don't add up."

So, back they go, uncreased, unscuffed and in mint condition. Dean is holding onto a replacement pair for me at size 10.

Aaaargh!!!

ps - at least I know my size in G&Gs now...

Chambray is too retro for my tastes so I would say light blue, I just have a thing at present for blue shirts looking to get a couple more blue OCBD's in various shades.

However if its a question of versatility in casual wear then white would be the logical choice.

Thanks GF. Good advice. I need something to wear on weekends, untucked with jeans or chinos or whatever.

You have my sympathies!

I was fortunate enough to be able to try on a pair of G&Gs in my size a couple of years ago, that were owned by a friend. I have quite a high instep and whilst the shoes were beautiful, they were far too tight across the vamp for me, so I decided to save my money for Edward Green and Vass instead.

I've got light blue, and I'm very happy with it - it goes well with both chinos and jeans and looks good.

If this helps (or not) popularity is

Chambray by far the top seller (Guido Wongolini & Sartorial Doctrine influence)

Light blue/White are pretty even

Pink is in the distant.

Im considering a range of lighter weight fabrics for spring

Cheers Rob.

Not sure I could pull the chambray off, so to speak, despite my admiration for Mr Wong's exerent styling.

The FX dropping from $1.05 to 0.95 is a 10% increase in cost. Im wearing more of the cost increase than ive passed onto our customers.

At least you lower the price when the dollar is up...

Or do you wear that "cost" as well?

Today is my first day today sporting properly tailored "old fashioned" pants. By that I mean, high rise (11.5" front), curved waistband, single reverse pleats. I must say, I love it.

Comfortability is off the charts.

O&J has only operated at c.$1.05 AUD/USD and Id gladly lower prices when we can get cost savings. Retail productivity loop 101.

Based on the one track I have heard tongue.gif, garbage. I love College Dropout; not a fan of anything he has done since then...
