Mosied on down today to that Festival of Steve at the Kelvin Club. Not bad. Kelvin's a quirky little space, reminiscent of better days, but boasting certain compelling features which keep it relevant, not the least of which are two full-size billiard tables.

Upstairs one encountered a number of stalls selling various merchandise of potential interest to gents who care about their appearance and attire. I was impressed by the eagerness-to-please of V&J Menswear, and purchased a very fine scarf from them. Carl Navé had some nice pieces on his racks - the vibe from previous posts on this thread is that he is not universally admired, but the actual threads looked OK to me. Perhaps some folks are annoyed by his ability to grow a full beard.

But the highpoint of the festival for me was without doubt the lovely Laura, whose acquaintance I had the serendipitous good fortune to make by plonking myself down next to her at the bar. Laura, I'm the one with the watch. Email me. You have the most eyes I've ever seen.

Are you sourcing these trees through Amazon? I want to buy about 5 pairs. Found the Woodlores on Amazon. Maybe we should do a bulk order.

I bought some shoe trees once from Amazon and the delay at customs took over two months. Their courier sucks at getting paperwork processed.

If you're in Sydney, I'm in.

Practically speaking -

Main issue is sizing. Spring-loaded trees are a great idea, but the shape will differ according to the last of the shoe. Ideally the trees would be a tiny bit too wide/bulky and then can be sanded down. But if they're too small, you're up shit creek.

I believe some local outlets offer this service, but for upwards of $80 per pair all up. Good luck to them, but I need five pairs and it's too much coin for me to part with.

Nice alternative to the crap that is mass produced out of factories in Italy.

I bought these sensational jeans a few years ago in a moment of madness. They were a bit snug then, but I genuinely thought that I would lose a few kilos.....some day.

The opposite has happened.

As a result, they have never been worn.

They really are superb, the fabric feels amazing and I really wish I could wear them.

But my gain is your gain.

I'm looking for $180.

If you want more photos or to try them on, PM me.

You Melbourne gents seen that 3Sixteen is doing a pop up shop in Melbourne in June? I'm pretty jealous, it would be the ideal opportunity to dispel any sizing worries you had.
