Mate, go to Enrico Santi in Pitt St.

As recently as a few weeks ago, they still had some Loake1880's for $195.

Is there a decent DJs in Sydney that would stock a few Loakes?

I think the problem with DJ's was that they don't have the Loake 1880s, and they sell the lesser lines for $400+, about the same price as a much better pair of C&J, Meermin or Carmina.

If you just go and try a pair for size, the lasts used on the lesser lines are not the same as the 1880s, so you will only be getting an approximate guide.

$195 a good price and very convenient. I'm emailing Crockett and Jones right now, and they want to sell me a pair of shoe trees for $115.

How hot would a 16 oz flannel be? Melbourne/Canberra only?

Too kind, sir.

Mine would be these: http://www.crockettandjones.com/Product/Hallam-Darkbrown-Wax#.UVtfBJNHJos (wearing them right now)

Waxed calf, Dainite rubber sole - keeps the wet weather at bay.

I'm not too fussed with the Sydney rain and its effect on shoes; just a brush down after getting home, and stuffing it with newspaper if it really gets bad/wet. All good the next day.

Having said that, though, I've been considering some formal shell cordovan options in black and dark brown.

Count me in mate!

It'll be chilly, so we can spruik our latest knitwear :).

Why don't we go to Rockpool and share a steak tartare like PoP and Jaypee do on the weekend?

I dunno if rockpool was a joke but that sounds good to me
