Absolutely, we also pay a premium for the style.

Judging from the price and the offerings from 'designer labels' we pay a premium for the lack of it.

Try GAP if you are in Sydney. 100% merino around $35 each on sale, and decent enough.

^ I got mine from Ralph Lauren outlet for $25. A great buy if you can find one.

The check is too bold at least on the website. Compare to say any english book at all...

agreed. this is jacketing, not suiting

A matter of personal taste.

Sure. But if its too bold to be in any english (suiting) book I could find I'd suggest you've just found your reason for the sales. Note that I'm using books here to approximate for the population.

re: Using it as seperates. Certainly easier than as a suit, however it still wouldn't be my favourite pattern there either.

Re: cheap ties yes B&S and the Bay. My only caution would be to make sure you buy STAPLES* don't get suckered into the "deal" -- This allows you to
a) Purchase less ties
b) Reduces the chance that you'll hate the tie later.

*Try to keep the quality up so you'll be happy to keep the tie.

Hey guys do any of you have a recommendation for merino sweaters? Picked up a couple from TM Lewin last year but their options are limited this winter.
And opinions on this: http://www.woodsofshropshire.co.uk/...-ties-silk-knitted-ties/navy-knitted-silk-tie
can't really afford Henry Carter or Sam Hober on my uni student budget!

Noticed a lot of sales in the past week Sportscraft, CR and DJ's big time discounts on jumpers both merino and lambswool. One CR jumper I saw at myers was $45 down from $109.

I'm heading down in a months time with a few mates, I'm 23 work in debt restructuring/insolvency, for some background my suits are P Johnson as are most my shirts and I love my C&J shoes, Hallam FTW ( My mentality, I'd rather a few nice items instead a lot of ****** ones which means I'm very picky) sadly I've lost my old coat $800 gone :( and I can't find anything reasonable that suits my style/taste I looked at Burberry's current range and its way over priced and frankly disgusting.

I've attached a few photos of what I'm looking for or anything similar. Now My question is could anyone happen to recommend a few stores to check out (prefer boutique but its not a biggie) around the Melbourne conservative business dress as far as Toorak etc

Or am I dreaming?

Thanks a lot guys

Ivor

I haven't checked the place out but the new Paul Smith shop on Collins Street might have something.
