Very nice. Out of interest how many ribs does it have? Generally the more ribs the better for an umbrella, as obviously they reinforce the canopy against wind.

Thank you. This one has eight ribs.

Changed shoes ad nauseum this morning. First dark brown Westburys - couldn't get them on my swollen foot. Next, black Selbournes, before I realised they are slippery as buggery in the dry, let alone the wet. Finally, an old pair of beater Testonis that have just been topyed. Even then I almost fell A over T in my haste to hobble from the car to my building.

And the moral of today's story is beware of the counsel of the unfortunate.

Shhhh you don't talk about the masons in public.....

We have a masonic temple just up the road, all sorts of weird blokes going in there for lodge, including the old german bloke across the road. The plus side is that you get to dress up, they are always in tuxes and apparently there is all sorts of regalia that they wear to the meetings, depending on your rank etc.

What's wrong with your foot?

@ Nicholas D C

My Creed Original Vetiver arrived from fragrancex last night. So it took them 9 days to ship from NY to here, at no cost (using their free69 code).

I've ended up paying roughly $2/ml for it, which is pretty good. You can do even better if you want a bigger bottle, but I was only after a small amount.

So looks like you might be OK if you want to jump in. Best to do it before USA starts to block international shipments, like the UK has.

Slipped on the stairs last week and did a 5cm+ tear in my calf muscle. I'll be on crutches for a couple of weeks at least. Just as I'd got the shoulder in reasonable shape - typical.

There were a few Poobahs in my family... I used to see these ancient geezers coming out of the Masonic Lodge in black tie with resplendent blue and gold adorned aprons, and necklaces that looked like they belonged to the Lord Mayor.

All those blokes are dead now and the Lodge is a Ukranian restaurant.

This and these A&R shows like Cajun Pawnstars/Ricks Renovations amuse me but they one that has got me in is the Romanze Criminale saga (Italian with subts) about the Roman Mafia formation in the middle 70s.

Just forgot how bad the clothes were in that era in which I grew up.

Waiting for new series of my usual faves like next Boardwalk Empire series or Sons of Anarchy.

But then the footie (aka R League) is back so sanity and normality has returned to my life.

Any thoughts on the Ben Barba stuff? Just Episode 64 at the Doggies ho hum deadhorse-a.gif?

I feel your pain. Interested in a second hand highly prized vintage moonboot quintuple monk strap boot in black plastic and velcro an unique black patina....?

But seriously, good luck with it, crutches are bloody irritating...could be worse, you could just be getting over a really bad shoulder injury or something...oh wait...
