Hair cuts in Canberra, can anyone give me the low down. Possibly not the best time to be asking with Jason likely to be busy (congrats btw), but I'll try anyway...

Plestor - I've only ever been to Erindale Hair Centre in South 'Berra. I know they're moving across the road in the next week or so, may pay to call first.

I'll be interested to see if there are any other recommendations too.

My girlfriend lives in Canberra. Comes to Melbourne to have her hair cut...

ho hum i think there are more SF members in Canberra than Jason. i use a barber in Civic a couple of aged Italian gentlemen who do great job.

They are in aarcade on the corner of Akuna and London curcit.

I don't disagree. Jason, however is the most active.

Thanks for the recommendation tho, I'll give them a shot given the are hugely closer (I'm inner north fwiw).

Top of my list is Mo Vida. The 'Wagyu with Poached Organic Egg and Truffle Foam' is insanely good.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. I'll check them out in the Gourmet Traveller guide I found in the lounge here ;-)

Wagyu and Truffle foam sounds interesting and unique... I'm tempted already!

The shanghai dumpling place on Little Bourke is fantastic, and I'm planning on visiting Movida tomorrow. As for loafers without socks:

Re haircuts, I have a barber 3 doors down in Fyshwick from our office, so I go there. Mark Daley on Tennant St. Great barber, very weird guy (in a funny way).

I also go to Christis Barbers next to Gus'es occasionally if you dont want to book and are in a hurry. And in Queanbeyan where I live, there's 3 or 4 old Italian barbers that are great. There's plenty of good proper hairdressers around if thats your thing, just that my $60 haircut days were over a long time ago.

Bought a pair of clippers 3 years ago and haven't looked back/paid for a haircut (well, apart to upgrade to a better set!).
