For those talking about dieting - GI doesn't matter so much as it is recorded measurements of single foods consumed in a fasted state which doesn't really reflect real life measurements.
So long as there is a calorie deficit and macros are roughly in check you will lose weight.
GI doesn't matter one bit. Neither does "avoiding refined carbs such as white flour" etc. All a bunch of terrible advice bullshit.
Want to lose weight? Calories in < calories out.
If you want to go further, count your macros and go for a usual 40/40/20 split. Hell, even go for a 40/30/30 split if you want to.
Next time someone says "oh don't eat carbs after 5pm" or "avoid white flour and white bread and white pasta and white potatoes' tell them they're a fucking idiot.
brb not consuming the primary source of my body's energy
brb the majority of dieticians in this country are retarded
brb implying losing/gaining weight isn't just simple math
