I've got one of those "recommend me X item of clothing" queries that everyone on here is a big fan of. Rest assurd I've searched for a substantial amount of time on here and beyond without avail. Should such a question offend one's taste, please skip this post.
I'm really interested in longwing/brogue boots in a relatively sleek last. Boots like the Grenson Fred or anything Trickers are just too bulky/round for my taste. Mr Gerry Nelson's famous RL Lindricks or these would be beautiful:

Unfortunately both are too pricey for me (appreciate it's because they're both shell), but I'm really struggling to find alternatives. Additionally, tracking down a Lindrick boot at the moment is a daunting task given they weren't resupplied this year. Epaulet is sadly all out of non shell Carmina boots in my size 10.5UK. The Crockett and Jones Skye is great, but appears to be nigh on impossible to find online. None of the usual Carmina stockists have longwing boots either in my size. Does anyone have any suggestions of smaller suppliers of stated boots or alternate similar shoes?
DR, Sutor Mantellassi has some great looking lace up boots with a less bulky sleeker last at around $400. I haven't come across any which are longwings/brogued.
Had a look, thanks. No brogue boots, but some lookers for sure. SM does very distinctive lasts, probably a bit too sleek for the type of boots I'm after.

Thankfully not another blue suit(!) Dark brown is a stylish choice and surprisingly versatile.
But why patch pockets on the sides and a welt breast pocket? Personally i've always been inclined to have all welted pockets for suits and all patch for blazers, but maybe that's just me. Always thought patch pockets were a little too informal for a suit.
I'd tend to agree, but the general idea this time was that patch pockets would allow the coat to be worn as a separate. Since it is primarily going to be a suit, I wasn't courageous enough to go with 3 patch pockets.
Now I have seen if made up, the jacket is so dark that the patch pockets are very subtle. i doubt people will even notice unless they look closely, and the breast pocket will have a PS in it.
I think it works, just not quite in the way I'd envisaged.

Vass, Alden, occasionally Lindricks pop up on eBay/B&S. Skye 2 will be similarly priced to Carmina's from Epaulet iirc. Alden's come in mid 600s for shell in non rare colours.
And muppets on here is not a new phenomenon. They've been around since about May 2007. Maybe stick to insulting people who don't bite back before you get your misshapen head bitten off ;-)
Go take a powder Benji.

I like the standard ipad case that folds out as ive been unable to find an ideal leather one - patina required. The bisonte one does look good though!

Ha ha ha - Rockpool is a wanker's paradise... Now I see why it's your favourite.
