Of course, going to head to Florentinos, Merchant, MoVida, Cumulus, Ladro and Vue De Monde if I am lucky. Anyone else got any other suggestions?

Chin Chin, (Little Flinders Street??) great food, fabulous experience.  No bookings, just turn up...early!  Then try IL Bacaro, Little Collins Street, the duck is amazing.

I've eaten at Attica. Ignore the location, I'd rate it higher overall than Vue de Monde personally (location aside).

Random question: anyone know if Warner Bros DVDs (not blu ray) are region free?

Not sure, but software like AnyDVD will disable region locking, as will buying the cheapest DVD player you can find (expensive ones seem to lock to a region, cheap Chinese ones don't.).

Good suggestion. Coda is the same style of food, but with bookings. A little more upmarket though, compared to Chin Chin. Chin Chin is great, highly highly recommended.

Ginger Boy is good too. So is Spice Temple, but that's in the Crown Complex.

Strange Wolf for a decent burger in the city is nice as well. The Hardware Society is another good place to eat for lunch.

Then there's Flower Drum or Ezards if you're balling.

Soniq B100 plays all Blu-Ray regions. $80 delivered from JB-Hifi.

Chin Chin and Il Bacaro look good. I've walked past Il Bacaro several times and have always wanted to go in.

So Attica is decent? I am not the biggest fan of 'white table cloth' meals.

Flower Drum I have tried - had a great time there.

Going to jet around and make enquiries into the others.

All my other suits are regular - either 46R or 88R and the lengths are fine.

Mamasita is hot these days, but you have to queue. Better to duck around the corner and go to Pei Modern.

A little off the beaten track are Yu-u in Flinders Lane, Cutler and Co in Gertrude St, Noir in Richmond and Josie Bones in Smith Street (for fans of beer and/or offal).

Don't forget to stop by Le Petit Gateau for a coffee and cake. You may well spot a certain shoe enthusiast tucking in.

You're a student aren't you? What you want to eat at all those pretentious places for? Grab a slab and a milk crate and leer at all the "normals".

Thanks Mike; trying to find somewhere to get the Dark Knight Trilogy the cheapest I've found is Amazon but I'll have a look at some Aussie websites next

Turning back to matters sartorial, just ordered a bunch of Viccel socks. Mixed reports of quality in the main thread on 'em, but jeez, at 8 bucks a pair for OTC you can't really go wrong. I tend not to view socks as a 'lifetime' investment for good reasons...

Out of interest, how many people here utilise a card holder as opposed to a wallet? My Aspinal of London one is due to arrive tomorrow - I'm looking forward to having something uber-thin to stick a couple cards in, rather than the somewhat irritating bulk of my current Oroton wallet w. coin section, which, to be fair has held up fantastically for the past four years! Then there's also the option of a money clip, but every time I use it I always feel like a right nonce.

Skip La Petite Gateau (I find it over-rated). Hit up Chokolait instead.

Assuming you enjoy chocolate.
