For me, building a basic summer wardrobe:
- X5 crew or v neck shirts from industrie (x3 white, x2 grey)
- x2 bonds baseball tees (x1 with a white base, x1 with grey)
- various singlets (if they suit you)
- x2 industrie chinos (sand and musket)
- x1 levis 501 shorts
- x1 flat colored havaianas
- x1 pair of ray bans (your pick)

Mix in a pair of board shorts and you're right

Fingers crossed I get to American Tailors in time for the C&J's (wedding excuse HURRAH!!!!); earliest I can get there is Saturday....

In other news I got my 2nd order from Luxire. It comprised of a linen/cotton blue gingham (fit perfect AND ITS FRIGGIN AMAZING!!!!!), 100% linen white (fit perfect; though makes me look like an Italian gangster in summer with the see through effect).......ARGHHHH my last shirt was a shirt jacket and 3" of extra fabric was added to the body making it fit like a tent (though my fault as they said 2-3" should be good).

WiIll review thoroughly them once I take the shirt jacket to the tailor (might as go to AM Tailors). Hopefully they can fix this tent....

This is men's clothing, not boy's clothing or beach wear.

For summer you need fabrics that can breath. Lots of cotton and linen - jackets, pants, shorts & shirts. Start with buying things that are, or work well with, blue, white, pale pink etc and then build off that.

For shoes, driving shoes are popular at the moment but a pair of saddle shoes, canvas sneakers or leather boat shoes (sperrys etc) will be also be a great start to building a summer wardrobe.

Depends how old you are. I'd be looking for more casual button up shirts rather than tees, and I still think jeans have their place in summer. I'd try and work some linen in there. Really isn't seen enough for how well it suits our summer.

Definitely heading to American Tailors tomorrow, just in case there's something cool.

 

Still trying to find vests in the city - or even online - I can find black very easily, but even nav is proving difficult to find in a non-wool fabric.

 

Any ideas would be super appreciated!

Dude it's close to 40 degrees. I'd be sweating buckets in even denim jeans and a broadcloth shirt.

This is a discussion about mens clothing, tailored wear etc (what grown ups wear). No one is forcing you to wear it but its not the topic of discussion.

I for one don't come here to discuss havianas/flips flops and singlets. If it is your belief that only these items of clothing will keep you cool in summer, you have much to learn.

Settle down gents.

 

That customs debacle has fucked the international postal system. Everything is taking forever to arrive!

^ too true, including my new lot of 7 folds and knit ties. Though it's probably more just the time of the year in reality.

wax, chamois/ cloth, some sort of brush and water repellent spray?

According to the tracking, my Modern Tailor order got through customs and onto a truck in 8 hours. Just lucky perhaps?
 

What date were they posted from Naples?

I just got a delivery from Fragrancenet, ordered on the 13th. It arrived in Oz on the 23rd, so that seems pretty prompt.

I had this Boglioli arrive via UPS today. Bought on the 21/12.

Went to the cricket today.
