Mind you, these people aren't exactly the wealthiest, so quality isn't something they have ever had reason to appreciate.

These 'blokes' I was talking to from the central coast that had driven into Sydney for a night of fun, fuck, it was the epitome of rough.

Central coast residents are the WORST!

There's a stereotype for you.

Yet why do i see so many footballers attempting skinny ties and pocket squares on the red carpet!

Seems like they ignored your inner Ted Baker and went stylish instead.

Skinny ties, lapels and skin-tight suits on not skinny men is very GQ I am told...

Everyone comments on it. Most people don't like it. Even on a 'casual friday' or when you're out on the weekend, people don't like it.

This is the general context to business wear in Australia, don't stand out too much! I can pretty much wear whatever I want luckily but you'll notice I don't often wear a PS in my ever decreasing WAYWRN shots. I think the main point to remember to be well dressed is confidence rules, and if your worries about people looking at your PS all day that doesn't help, so it's better to go without in that case. People may think that your not well dressed on here if you don't have one, but in the real world they don't give a shit. When I do wear them I tend to stick to darker more subtle PS's that aren't too look at me. And you're only young, which shouldn't make too much of a difference to peoples opinions but it does. It gets easier to get away with more as you get older.

And in saying that, heres today's shot, minus PS.

Coat: Caruso Navy Hopsack
Shirt: Cottonwork un-lined collar

Thanks for posting the Broadsheet link, PS.

In other news, picked up three Henry Carter sale ties. All lovely, as usual. One green with polka dots, one purple with polka dots and the burgundy with gold circles. Thanks Jas!

This is really what I am starting to realise. I think the PS, any colour, is wonderful. I love them. Some people reckon they are formal, I think they are very casual. Only one person, out of 100+ people on my floor wears a pocket square. He is a partner, and he wears it folded and small. So when I rock up in my P Johnson pink square, I get all these looks. You can imagine what people at the pub said :).

Guys, any idea what this is and where to find it (the over coat sweater thing), I emailed the Armoury, since it potentially might be a Ring Jacket item.

QFT.

You need to wear it and forget it. If you're fiddling with your PS all day, you will look awkward.

Looking sharp as always, Jase.
