Anyone able to give me feedback on Paul Smith suits?  I found a grey houndstooth which fitted beautifully.  They are constructed with a full floating canvass, MOP buttons, pick stitching on lapels and seams, colorful PS inner seams lining, but no working cuffs and no handsewn button holes. The blue navy fabric looks even better but sold out in my size. I was thinking of getting another suit tailored in HK, but this will save me the hassles and I can then concentrate on getting shoes (Carmina, Bontoni, JL, hopefully on sale).

If it fits, is at the right price, looks good on you and makes you happy, buy it.

I wouldn't sweat over no working cuffs and no hand sewn button holes.

This talk of Rubinacci, is it the same Rubinacci that made this pocket square that I acquired?

Or is it a different Rubinacci?

Out of interest, how much are they?

The PS Suit is about AUD$1000. Since I am travelling, I can get the GST refunded. Starting to get a flicker of buyer's remorse....

Unless you are asking about the shoes??

Well, there's one Rubinacci company but there are two Rubinaccis - father Mariano and son Luca. The father dresses pretty conservatively, but the son favours rather "out there" combinations at times, particularly with regard to colour.

Never thought about claiming GST back on clothes... might do it on my PJ suit - I guess I would then have to carry it round though... hmm.

The History of Mens Fashion by Nicholas Storey, Paul Motian On Broadway complete set and hopefully convince the wife we should get tickets now to go to Europe next year. And two bottles of Kooyong Estate Haven to wash down Xmas lunch and dinner.

Does anyone have any views on Penhaligons fragrances?

I haven't used them myself, but the Blenheim scent gets its share of love on Basenotes.

Yes, I swear by the Blenheim Bouquet after using it in The Witchery (http://www.thewitchery.com/) where my wife and I stay just after we got married in July.

It has a lovely, long lasting (on me anyway) citrus smell and my wife loves it (which is the most important thing).

Highly recommended.

I know it would be a lot cheaper. You obviously have good taste. A field coat appeals, there are plenty out there (again, another thing I do not really need yet though). I like the look of these (but am not really prepared to pay that much for them).

What's the minimum I would be paying at Pjohnson for a mtm odd jacket or anywhere in Melbourne for that matter?
