Where should i be looking for made to measure suits/shirts in Melbourne? No more than 2k per suit, preferably less.

Thanks!

Welcome to SF.

Sounds like P Johnson Tailors is perfect for your needs; price and aesthetic wise.

Quite a few here use them.

Do a search and you'll be able to find a lot more info.

Sadly the search function on this forum (and most others) is worserer than useless. Which is a pity as there is much worth finding in older posts and threads.

If someone has made it work like a proper search engine I'd love to know.

Looking good! In addition to the O&J chambray :) I really like the belgraves in polo suede - I use to have the exact same pair before they were retired!

I received my Apolis chinos today. I have never owned chinos, these are my first ones, so I wish I could give you a comparison.

One in navy and one in olive. Fit is excellent, so is construction. I like the hidden back pocket and the tough as nail seams. The cotton is also extremely soft. They are designed for the CA summer, which is synonymous with Sydney summers. I do have to roll the seams up a smidge, but I guess that is the chino look.

They aren't cheap - $120 a pair, made in the U.S, but what pushed me over the line was the charitable premise that Apolis is built on. Knowing that my purchases help the business, the manufacturers and the environment, for me, is right up there on the priority list. I wonder if I could claim these chinos as a tax deduction?

I would have given O&J a shot, but he has been sold out for months. Anyway, I am going to take JM's lead and wear them to the Christmas party tomorrow night.

Could I also get your thoughts on this:

Japan Blue 14.8oz Skinny Straight Vintage Raw Selvedge Denim - Model JB0201

I have a pair arriving tomorrow. Jay from Blue Owl has hemmed them for me. I have requested no cuffs on my jeans.

I took TBMs advice on trying on some jeans (Nudies et al). They were all great, but I felt like I wanted something Japanese, something not every common. Has anyone dealt with Blue Owl before? Surely these jeans are comparable in quality to Nudies/Just Jeans?

Maybe the hemmed chino is a more formal look? There is only about an inch of cuff on these ones. Undecided on whether to take them up or not.
