When I think tassel loafers, I think a portly old man who also happens to be wearing a 4"+ wide madder tie.

Unless it's a pair in suede and in an FU colour.

Guys, what would you do in this situation - I got home, tried on recently purchased loafers, one fit looser than the other, I thought, "fair enough, I know my feet are not identical..." I looked down and noticed that one shoe looked longer, rubbed my eyes thinking I've been taking too much acid, got out the ruler and lo and behold, right shoe is about 4-5mm longer than the left and it's the one that fits too loose. WTF?!

Anyway, not sure what Brooks Brothers will say, but it's going to be a pain...

As an update to some of my earlier posts, PJ have their Orazio Luciano product for sale now. The examples they have are incredible. Mine should be here in January. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

5mm is half a size bro. Demand them to cover return shipping and return them.

Yep, definitely. They fucked up from poor QC, not your fault. You bought them on a promise of size X. They didn't provide. It's unreasonable for you to have to cough up the return postage cost.

It will be a pain in the arse though. Enjoy :(

Call them and talk to them and I have no doubt that they will offer to pay return shipping, or perhaps even just send you a new pair and tell you to keep the old ones....

Most big US stores have absolutely AMAZING customer service compared to what we have here. They are so keen to please and to retain your business it's crazy. The power of choice I guess.

Endless, Lands End, Evo, Altrec are some that I have had good experiences with returning things to name just a few.

E.g. Dogfunk have an "unlimited returns policy" on Snow gear, ie you can use the snowboard, decide you don't like it after a week and send it back prepaid for $6.95......

Deja vu?

By the way, I came home today to find a few packages - a couple of Epaulet Walt trousers from Need Supply, a brown Filson 256 (replacing the leather backpack I've been using) and this from Vanda:

The reissue of their Blue Donegal tie. It's hard to capture this accurately but it's beautiful and I'm looking forward to using it.

By the way, this was on the invoice from Need Supply:

Freaky that they got the delivery day exactly right!

I'll add another small retailer (OJ was the first) who my Mum now think are totally great.

"They're so polite, Matt, I can't believe how nice these companies you get things from are!"

Oh mother.

Ah yes I remember your mum.. Lovely lady. Wish my mum still bought me clothes.. Although my mum would probably knit me an asymmetrical vest lol
