I have a sterling silver ballpoint for scrawling notes.

I also have a Parker Premier for study:

It's a no fuss fountain pen that writes beautifully. I have found that since starting with it, I tend to care more about how I write and also I remember what I write exceedingly better (which is important as I use it to write study notes). I would recommend to anyone studying that they use a good, heavy pen.

As promised, here are a couple of photos of today's outfit. There are no shoe shots today, just jacket/shirt/tie photos.

LAMY for me, but our business (my full time job) are a LAMY re-seller so I get them all cheap. We also do the usual parker, waterman and all those but in general I just find them old blokes pens. I have a few different safaris and al-stars but also a few nicer metal fountain pens.

The cool thing about the Lamy pens is that it's not expensive to get a whole range of nibs. Get a thick oblique nib and your writing starts looking Shakespearean. Get some different coloured inks and funk it up a little - I used to like turquoise or violet. Great for signing cards and memorable too.

My daily writer, when I used fountain pens, was the Pelikan M800 in blue:

Very nice GN I have a Parker 51 fountain pen and also a Dupont Olympio and a collection of Parker ball points amassed over the years. I use Pelikan turquoise ink in the Dupont.

For everyday I use I switched to Pilot Vpens, disposable fountain pens about 18 months ago.

Does anyone know a good pen shop in the Sydney CBD? Been looking for one since the transition of The Pen Shop from real to virtual?

And any suggestions wheere to buy a small leather case to carry a couple of fountain pens?

With FXH down as a tentative.
If your a Melbourne based member, or will be in Melbourne next Thursday night with a free slot in your calendar, you're more then welcome to join us for a night that will certainly begin with fine gentlemanly conversations on the topic menswear, and most likely end up with unnamed members unsuccessfully working the room for a pick-up (what happens at SF Melbourne meet-ups, stays on SF Melbourne meet-ups!).
A venue hasn't been decided yet, but if all else fails I'm sure that the default Melbourne SF meet-up venue, The Aylesbury, will suffice (FXH is amendment that appolyon once picked up there, hence why we keep returning!). Please shout out if you have any other venue suggestions or preferences.
Either reply to this post of PM one of us if you're keen.

Just a reminder gents that Melbourne drinks are still on tomorrow, and in the absence of any other venue recommendations, it looks like we'll be meeting at the The Aylesbury.

R&B have an "invitation only" private client event with 40% off all stock starting today.

I suspect, however, that you will not need the invitation if you just mention that you received an email - may need to be on their customer database though. PM me if you want me log-in.

Can anyone recommend a brand that makes an aluminium-free scented deodorant that's available at a reasonable price?

A guy at work purchased some Meermin's and they are size too big.

They haven't been worn, at all, and he is happy to let them go for $150 delivered to anywhere in Australia or $140 pickup in Melbourne.

The model is the Oxford, black, wholecuts in size UK10.5
