I went through a few Raw denims including new standards and just couldn't get past the stiffness and I'm like Gerry who only really wear jeans on the weekends so they take ages to wear in. The stretching on most Raw denim also gave me the shits because you are really just guessing they are going to fit for a lot of money down the drain if they dont. In the end after much searching I stumbled upon a pair of G-star Raw, that feel nothing like any raw denim I've ever had (much softer) but have all the good characteristics of raw (nice dark un-touched denim) and most importantly fit like a charm and were only $180, pretty cheap in the jeans world.
It's only now it's summer I'm at the start again looking for something similar but in a lighter wash....

Good post GN, I missed this one.  Can never get away from Sebastian, he's a fine conversationalist

APC also shrinks like hell. Had to wash my NS a couple times to get oil, then degreaser out (surprised it worked, limited slip diff oil is atrocious to remove from anything), seem to have shrunk another inch through the inseam, so I've had to change my cuffs.

Looking at ordering something casual for summer , i was thinking of giving Luxire a go , I am not standard shape any more bit of a gut so I like the idea MTM online so I thought I would try Luxire , any thoughts  puzzled.gif

Gents, a heads-up on a couple of things:

- Malford of London is offering GBP100 off Edward Green and C&J shoes. He has limited sizes but excellent deals, so have a look at his affiliate thread and website. I don't have any affiliation but am a happy, repeat customer and I just scored a pair of C&J Belgraves for an excellent price.

- Lands End is offering 30% off pretty much everything on their website at present, for anyone who is interested in picking up something from there such as linen or OCBD shirts or chino pants.

I got some Hartford shirts off Mr. Porter.

I might need to get more than 1 or 2.

Definitely interested in other suggestions for where to get good linen from though!

It is very hard to say.

The flagship store in Woollahra would have the most variety, I think. However, it is very hard to have all sizes in all styles at every store. It is just too hard to direct you to a store where you are going to get a good range in your size. It would be safest to try Woollahra.

Whoever wanted shirts from Luxire do it now; you get a free pocket square or a leather wallet full of like 20 collar stays....I can't cuz I'm waiting from mine to arrive (website for more details)!
