I will post some photos shortly if any one is interested.

I don't own any but I think horses arse is hard to stretch.

It is, although they are unlined and seem to have no significant stitching over the point where the discomfort is, so it could go either way.

I'd wear them for short periods a few times to see if it goes away on its own.

Thanks for the reply, I hope they do stretch just a wee bit.

I have taken a quick photo.

That is one tight DB suit. Patrick Johnson tight.

Nice shirt though, I have a near identical one from Epaulet. Great with navy chino shorts for summer.

Patrick Johnson goes on in that video of his about how he doesn't like everyone 'going tight'.

But you have to admit; he tends to go on the tighter, more snug side, than the looser side.

As I understand it, they're basically a European forerunner of sites such as Gilt and My Habit. I always just assumed that they didn't ship to Australia and so didn't bother investigating.

Fuark got the email after work so only had like 5 mins to check it out before tonight's 'meeting' (chill-sesh-with-da-broskiez) got back and realised what a shit-cunt shopping form Australia is T_T.

Hey guys does anyone own both HC and Drakes ties? I was wondering how they compare in thickness/lining.

I own both and both have different thickness and widthdepending on material and model

Generally my hc ties are thicker, drakes are lighter

Also the shape of the blade is different, HC narrows more at the knot .. Ill take a photo later.

Quick pic - sorry probably not the best quality.

Left to right= 1) Herringbone (made in italy) 2) Vanda 3) Drakes for PJohnson 4) Drakes bought in their London store 5+6) Henry Carter ties

Observations. Both my Drakes ties are 7cm width. HC ties were both 8cm width - same as herringbone and vanda. The taper on the HC is more as both HC and drakes narrow to the same width at the centre.

To my hand the drakes ties have more life as they are lighter and use less (or softer?) lining. The Vanda has no lining. HC is probably on par with Herringbone or a Rhodes + Beckett tie in terms of lining but even between the two that I have the thickness varies and obviously should as different materials should be lined differently.

The silver check tie is thicker than the green with white spots. In terms of blade length Im not a big fan of Vanda as I can only tie a single FIH knot without it looking uncomfortably short. My favourite tie is a P Johnson plain tie of mine. Its 155cm and ties the best knot out of any of my tie collection.

drool.gif I really need to get some more shell/derbies in my collection. I'm trying to branch out a bit. I've got quite a few adelaides/semi-brogues (my favourite kind of shoe) and not so many other styles.
