You philanthropist  - most flog off their wares on Ebay for a buck. With a baby on board things may change smile.gif

PS re baby ware - we've picked up awesome outfits for a song off RL online. Our bundle of terror looks all Brooks Brother Ivory League, on a budget - he's got me covered.

I imagine your socks would be a bargain - unworn.

I do see lots of Lewin and Trywhitt shirts near new or washed once in opshops usually in groups of 5 in the one size - mostly I think they got sizing wrong or they shrunk or they died or got divorced and the ex wife chucked it all.

Coupla weeks ago I got 2 Herringbone Sydney / Made in Japan suits, Italian fabric one in grey, plus one in self striped navy - $20 each - fitted the 6'2" offspring perfectly with no alterations. A bit of a win.

How many people here have ordered Meermins and kept them? I seem to see an awful lot coming up for sale for whatever reason.

solid haul. suits are fairly hit and miss in sydney. i find lots of orphan suit jackets ):  not worthwhile flipping or getting separate.

shhhh - Don't mention the war gerry

If we sit back and wait we'll be able to pick them up for about $20 a pair then when we have what we want plus a few extra for sale - we'll start boosting them up with a stealthy marketing campaign and make a killing - plus have nice stuff on our feet cheapo.

Its a plan I tell you. A plan.

It's not just a plan, it's cunning plan!

Me. Kept one pair returned one pair. Two more on the way (MTO + snuff suede chukkas to replace my dying Clark's desert boots.

In regards to people selling them off, I think a lot find it easier than sending it back to Meermin. Unsure why, as Meermin will pay for shipping on the new pair rather than you having to pay another round of their shipping. So you end up losing a lot less than the B&S here.

I like the shoes, mostly for the leather quality in comparison to other makers in the price bracket (150-200 AUD), but there are finishing issues and there seems to have been a batch made where the soles split at the edge, not come apart mind you, just split, which seemed to worry a lot of people.

Its just not true - I can see a place for no socks - if you are swimming or on your way to the shower at home, f'rinstance.
There might be others but I'd have to have a long think.

I`m with you on this one, maybe you could add going to beach with thongs and boardshorts.

I just do not like the look of no socks with shoes    crazy.gif

I quite liked the navy pin-stripe Brioni suit I got a few weeks ago for $25. Son #1 loved that. Now if only I could find one in my size ...

Hey guys,

Following SF for awhile, thought it'd be easier if I joined up.

Melbourne transplant living in rural Victoria at the moment, let's just say I think 'dressing up' in this part of the world is what most SF'ers would deem casual.

:)

Also, because I live near the desert, and there's already been about 5 35+ days, where can I get some decent linen shirts and or pants. Or seersucker.
