Can you tell me more about Robby?

Their website is pretty shot.

I thought I will give you guys a quick warning. Last week I purchased a SAB briefcase for 765 Euro (just under $1k aud) from - www.torquato.net
Now they have processed the payments - so it went away form authorizations and appeared on my statement today . And now I get an email form them saying they will not ship the goods to me.And asking me to send them money directly to their account !!! Its odd that they charged my card without shipping the products. Any legit merchant will only charge you once they ship . If they decided not to ship they will not process the authorization. Becos one a merchant process a transaction and not ship the goods credit card holder can raise a dispute. And merchant will have to pay charge back processing fees of any where between $30-$45.
I know this becos I work at a bank. Anyway I will raise a dispute against them tomorrow as goods not delivered. SAB briefcase under $1k ? Didn't think so.
I think these guys are frauds.
Honestly pissed off . My birthday around the corner and this was a gift to my self. Below is the email that they sent me.

Dear xxx,

Thank you for your answer.

The address you provided was not confirmed by the bank. Due to the high value of your order, we cannot accept the card payment and had to refund the amount of EUR 765,08. You should be able to see this refund on your next crdeit card statement. We would kindly ask you for your payment in advance into our bank account before we can proceed with the current order.

We truly apologise for the inconvenience caused but hope for your understanding.

Kind regards

Torquato

I don't know, this could be legit. They might be worried that they are being scammed by YOU. I would see if you can use PayPal - pretty sure you can get that back if it all goes pear shaped.

Never ever use direct deposit. I'm sure you know this though.

PS

<<<<< got offered a new job today. However it's the kind where my all my clothes will be covered up a fair portion of the day!

Still going to buy myself something nice to celebrate though...maybe a HC tie! Or more luxire shirts.... Hmm.

Sorry for the self-congratulatory post! Well, not really, I'm stoked smile.gif

I have been trying to resist the temptation to go their 2 for $1000...I'm not sure if the sale would get me the suits for less than $500 each though...

You can send an e-mail to Rene at: info@deerstyle.com.au and he should respond quickly, or send him a message via the Deer Style Facebook page. He's busy with his full-time job at present but is still often able to meet up before or after work or, more infrequently, at lunchtime.
Speaking of lunch, please feel free to let me know if you're interested in meeting with some other Brisbane Styleforumites for lunch one day, as a few of us meet up every week or two, usually on a Thursday or Friday.

Thanks for the response. Lunch sounds great, I just returned from 3 months overseas and start work in a couple of weeks so from Nov onwards count me in.

Cheers

Contragulations!

There are very few things in life that beat getting a great job offer. Enjoy it.

Now to splash out!

Only a few suits are being discounted further - to $350.

From what I gather. I have had too much work and haven't been able to get down there.

I have also decided to stick it out with a Navy Holland and Sherry MTM with extra trousers for slightly less than the two MJ Bale suits. Hopefully it works out.

I worked there for 18 months as the menswear manager, so I can tell you a bit.

Some cool labels but not SF approved by any means apart from a few of the Paul smith things. Good street wear like Comme de garçon, dries van noten, Rogan, Kris van assche and the like.

The dries suits were awesome but very casual type suits. And the Comme fragrances were magic, I still wear the Comme 2.

So if you want a MJ bale type suit it's not the place for it.

Thanks all.

More like this sort of thing though...

And, since I will have to pop into Ludlows anyway... I can pick out a HC tie in person! It's all coming together...

Vic still has the wigs? Or are they just selling them as collectors/ceremonial items? I thought they were pretty much gone in Australia.
