Has anyone got a pair of the brown carmina punnched captoe's? I am trying to decide my next pair of shoes and have been eyeing these off for a while. I would love to see pics of these in the wild if anyone has them? I dont trust store pics!

Here you go. The Armoury pics definitely have a few coats of polish over them compared to straight out of the box.

I have these in black, contemplating getting them in brown as the Simpson last is sex.

Yep I did work there a few years ago on the weekends (this was before the buyout and when a lot was still made in Japan). Someone (maybe you?) also asked the other day about the MJ Bale Mudgee weave. I have it and just got married in it, also wearing it today. I'm very happy with it and it fits me slightly better than the Herringbone Osaka cut (more closed fronts, or quarters as some say) and a fraction more in the length.
Hope that helps.
Jason

That was me, Jason! Cheers for that feedback mate - definitely sold me on the Mudgee weave. You might be able to help me out with sizing since I'm not near a place which stocks MJ Bale. If I'm a 38 in their business shirts and a 38R in a Hugo Boss suit then 38 should work for a Bale suit?

Now I just need someone else willing to go in for their 2 for $1000 deal!

Anyway I have received the pair yesterday and done a little bit of restorations. And today I was wearing them to work. This was my first attempt at restoring a pre-owned pair. So results are not what I see from some expert sf members. I am a true us8EEE. This c&j is uk 7.5 E ; which is like a US 8.5 D. But the shoes are really narrow. I have really tight fit.
Anyway ....this is how they arrived

after intense brushing ....

after cleaning with dump cloth-

after polishing one ....

end result.....I don't have any fancy polish. Just used this polish....

lol not as good as I thought I could....shog[1].gif

Does anyone from Melbourne know where I can go to get my raw denim hemmed with chain stitching? I can't find any sort of place that does this in Melbourne!

Not quite MD!!! I missed out to apopylon on the carminas but the C and J look a good shoe. Well done.

Thanks Spandexter. You have confirmed my next new shoe purchase! Now to get the required cash together. Is Armoury the best bet for Carmina's?

Let me guess size 43eu/9uk? Sorry they've been really popular!

Dont fret - we are doing another order this month to hopefully get some new stock pre Xmas

I was going to offer Style Forum a custom pair if there was enough interest? Pricing would still be $199 and we'd be able to collaborate to choose style/material/colour etc. This would also guarantee your sizing so you dont miss out.

No worries, If you are a 38R in Hugo Boss then more than likely the MJ Bale will fit you as well, but without seeing how slim the HB suit is hard to tell of course. Your shirt size won't have too much bearing on it though, I'm a 40R jacket for instance but wear a 41 neck shirt. Good luck with it.

- Wool/silk blend Brooks Brothers jacket in a hopsack-like weave;
- Kent Wang pocket square in white linen with blue edging; and
- Stefano Branchini wholecut shoes.

Nice look, friend.

Just a suggestion, swap the shirt for one with finer, less bold stripes to complement the heavily saturated pattern on the tie and it will be a killer outfit. smile.gif

Anyone notice channel 9 boss David Gyngell on the news the last day? Very nice fitting suit, very bespoke looking fit. Slight nit picky collar gap but otherwise very understated and impressive.
And he knocked Leila McKinnon up so he must be doing something right.

Gyngell would want to look the goods endeavouring to resurrect KP's remnants...

IIRC geting from the Carmina site is slightly cheaper if they have the model.
