One particular gripe I have with the shoes is that on many of the models the toes 'turn up', making them look like you've worn them every day for 10 years and stored them without shoetrees (makes them less comfortable as well I might add).

One "groovey" shop in Little Collins has a few models with toes already curled up - brand new!!

You've noticed it too! This is the phenomenon I was referring to - the toes are turned up on new shoes. The effect is akin to wearing a pair of rockers:

Again, another Herringbone factory sale. Has anyone been lately? Any new stock coming in worth checking out?

I purchased a Arthur Galan trench at DJs yesterday at a reasonable discount. It's damn warm.

I went with the intentions of purchasing the Hugo Boss 'Sting' wool/cashmere blend but it wasn't discount at all. I'll try and source it online as I'm not down with the $1400 price tag.

Also a few work shirts. I was impressed with a few of the Zegna shoes on sale from $700-800 down to $250-300!

Just visited the Herrinbone outlet today and snapped up the only suit in 36r! It's a POW with blue window pane pattern.

If you're a size 40, you'd have a field day with the suits there.

What are your thoughts on the shoe brand 'Milana' being sold in DJs??

Milana is a real mixed bag. Im guessing it is because they are manufactured by a variety of different factories all with differing methods of construction and design. They are always made in Italy. Styles sometimes are classic but can sometimes be way over the top with alot of extra stitched details, ugly toe shapes, really weird looking soles. Most are glued construction although sometimes they are blaked stitched. I have a pair of suede loafers from Milana that are about 4 or 5 years now and they are still kicking. I probably wear them once a month or so due to my current shoe rotation and this is probably why they have lasted. Surprisingly these shoes were glued soled and had quite a light and thin sole at that.

Did get a lovel pair of RM Williams from Bondi for 260 down from 390 though.

I don't know why Lloyds get such bad press here. Sure, they're not top flight quality and they are very overpriced at RRP, but I don't think many people would pay RRP.

I have two pairs of their 'Kay' gunboats, one in black and one in tan, and, as well as looking okay they have the massive advantage that their wide fittings are, unlike a lot of the fancier brands, actually wide. They are just about the only shoe I have forund which fits my freak-show wide flappers.

Bonus cheque came in so did a little spending, breaking my zero spending agreement with myself

I picked up a pretty decent DB Trench in Navy last weekend at the Oxford outlet here in Canberra which is great considering Oxford generally blows....

We've had a couple days where an overcoat has been necessary already... or maybe I'm just getting soft in my old age.

The case is really nice... $485 on sale, down from $695. The Oroton site has some better images. Coat was $310.

I hear you on Oxford... everytime I go in there I wonder why I bothered.

Yep - Mine are "Extra Weidt" burgundy cap toes - stylish (I would say that wouldn't I) + comfy @ sale price @ Mountfords annual sale aound 10 years ago.
