Does anyone have any good recommendations for dandruff shampoos or remedies? I have been using apple cider vinegar, but to no avail. I've also pretty much exhausted the shampoos commonly available in the supermarkets. I read a post on here that suggested tea tree oil, but I'm allergic to that, as I discovered after my girlfriend applied it to a cut on my shoulder and my whole back blew up in a rash!
So, does anyone have any tried and tested methods for dealing with the dreaded white stuff?

coal tar shampoo (T-Gel in supermarkets). Don't be tempted by the (cheaper) Redwin stuff that's labelled coal tar 'scented'. It used to be proper coal tar gel, but they changed it about 18 months ago, and put 'scented' under the label in really small letters. Seriously, the stuff smells ordinary, I dunno why you'd get it for the scent. Works well though (I suffer from pretty severe psoriasis, and it's the only stuff that has worked on my head)

Try rubbing sorbolene into your scalp - a lot may be dryness. Some sulphur mixted into sorbolene by the chemist may help .

What about anti-dandruff Brylcreem? A lot of dryness is actually caused by the shampoo or washing your hair too frequently.

Thanks heaps guys, some good suggestions to give a crack this coming week. I was going to write that I'd let you all know how it goes, but I had a moment of realisation that this is probably about as much talk of dandruff as anyone is willing to tolerate! So thanks to you all again.

No, we're all friends here. Good luck with it!

As for dandruff being off-topic (as suggested by one particular poster) ... look at it this way: dandruff looks terrible on the shoulders of a nice jacket. If concern over what one's jacket may look like isn't on topic, then what is?

+1. DeerStyle offers MTM shirts from two sources at present, China and the US.
The Chinese-made shirts are nice - very lightly fused, springy collars and cuffs and the option of MoP buttons, and they are priced at $100.
The US-made shirts (by Individualised Shirts) are really good. They are very flexible and accommodating with requests to do different things, such as changing the shape of cuffs or raising a collar, and they have a wide variety of fabrics. Prices start at $150 and increase with the class of the fabric. I have a few already and am eagerly awaiting the arrival of another two.
In my opinion, it's better to spend a bit more on a shirt if it means that you are actually being measured up by someone who knows what they are doing. That way, they can identify whether you have any quirks that should be taken into account in the measurements, such as a dropped shoulder and so on. Therefore, I think that the chance of getting a well-fitting shirt from the beginning are much higher when you are being measured by someone who knows what they are doing as it is much less likely that you will end up going through several "test" shirts first, trying to get a good fit. Thus, it's quite likely that going through an online tailor could actually be a false economy (depending on pricing, of course).
DeerStyle also carries G. Inglese shirts, which are handmade in Italy. I think that they're superior to Borrelli, Finamore, Barba etc in construction but, of course, they are quite expensive. Well worth having a look at, though, just to see what a really lovely, handmade shirt looks like.

thanks journeyman, didn't realise they had those $100 chinese shirts, interesting!

i was only aware of the individualized shirts for $150-250. any idea how much for one in tessitura monti fabric? i'm looking for something comparable to thomas mason silverline...

yes, i agree it is better to a shirt tailored by someone trained. my hesitation is just in starting again, as i feel with my online mtm shirt (which was based off a tailored shirt) the fit is pretty bang on, save for the armpits. you're right, it may take another 1 or 2 shirts to fix that issue.

but i think i might do a test shirt with deer one of these days, guess i'll never know if i never try.

Just to add to Journeyman's comments on MTM Shirts, I spoke to a Herringbone rep regarding their current MTO Shirt deal (Buy two get a third free) who informed me they have Thomas Mason cloth starting at $199 (four price points, going upward).
2 x $200 = 400
For 3 shirts = $133 a shirt.
Could be a option for you.
My only issue was that she said everyone in store now was "trained" for MTO shirts....which I am not comfortable with. I would prefer a well regarded tailor...not floor staff (no offence to guys in here who work in menswear, I am sure YOU are more than capable, however a lot of retail staff are not as passionate).

$133 for thomas mason cloth sounds like a pretty good deal (i mean compared to herringbone prices in general) and only $13 more than buying online from nialma! but you're right, it's an awesome deal if a trained tailor is doing it. a store assistant with no experience an MTO training? that sounds like a bit more of a gamble... would like to see the results if anyone tries it out though.

At least us brisbanites have a couple of options now!

Hey guys. One of my friends got me onto this forum after seeing one of my photos being posted up here. I'm the streetstyle photographer of www.t-t-l-g.com. I'm also the well-dressed Melbourne Central Country Road sales assistant wearing the Drakes knitted tie, double monks and silk pocket square.

After a couple weeks of lurking, I thought I should introduce myself and present a proposition. For Remembrance Day, I'm planning on doing a series of photos featuring well dressed people wearing poppies. I'm trying to get as many people as possible and would love some extra bodies. If anyone here is interested to be photographed sometime today, tomorrow or wednesday in the Melbourne conservative business dress (or close) please let DM me or something. The whole process should take no longer than 5 minutes and I can easily come to where you are.

Regardless, looking forward to being more active in the forum in the near future!

New email from Azzaro. Antichi Telai down to $600. Did anyone check these out? Any idea what kind of styles/sizes they are?

Depends if its new or old stock. Azzaro recently brought in a batch of solid charcoal Antichi Telai suits. 2-button..I think peak lapel. In all (regular) sizes. He also has a one or two left in various sizes from the last time they managed to secure a shipment.

Yes, I will supply poppies if you don't already have one.

DM was supposed to stand for direct message. Sorry, it's twitter lingo. What I meant to say was PM (private message) me.
