A Filson bag and what looks like a P Johnson Tailors suit (if my knowledge of the details is correct?) in Melbourne. Great look - well done. This has got to be a SF member. (Actually this, in different colours and patterns, is my uniform now too, hope I look this sharp).

Haha, yes - that's Matt. I hope he doesn't take offence at me mentioning his name on here. Not sure if he's on Style Forum.

Genuinely nice chap, though.

Has anyone had to return shoes to Herrings?

Australia Post quoted me $70 registered airmail, arrival time 3-10 days, or $35 sea mail, but it won't get there till January!

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Eightace
I had to return a pair of Loake Aldwychs that had welting holes in the upper (where the heel met the sole). I paid the $70. They gave me another pair of shoe trees in the replacement shoes for the trouble.

do you guys think Australian clothes are way over priced!?

Ha.

They're on par with the real estate market. In fact, that might make a good debate; 'Which is more ridiculously overpriced - this bedsit hovel in sunny Port Melbourne going at a cool $750K (plus stamp duty, legal fees, some fuckwit real estate agent's fees etc etc) or these snazzy pair of Calibre pants - designed in Frankston, manufactured in Thailand, stitched togethor by Stevie Wonder, yours for a cheap-at-twice-the-price $499?'

Don't sent them registered. That price is odd as a pair to USA including registered and Obama AUD9 tax is around AUD50. I think someone has miscalculated.

Actually to show my appreciation, I'll offer free shipping on 2 or more ties for any Aussies during our Sf trunk show (normally it's free worldwide shipping on 3 or more).

Not registered (airmail) was only $65.

I quizzed the Australia Post staff member about all the options. I don't think there's been any miscalculation. I think it's going to have to be $70, goddammit!

Have many of you guys guys got issues with finding shirts that fit?

I need a 39cm neck - but a chest that is the equivalent of that on a 41cm neck - by the same token I need 88cm sleeves - but I want a slim fit....basically I'm a mix of multiple sizes...

Almost at the point of going MTM...but my budget is not as large as I'd like it to be.

Try Modern Tailor. Before you ask about it here, there are multiple threads already on the forum, including an official thread.
