Is there something wrong that the very first pair of black plain toe oxfords I've seen in person sits on a rack in Payless Shoes?

Would be great if they did. No doubt BMT have thought very hard about their offer up to this point. I can't seen why they couldn't slip a few C&Js into their line at HBs, unless there are licensing/cost issues.

Might I suggest a Boglioli jacket. Similar (maybe a liitle more) price and beautiful products (am wearing one of mine now). And if you get the right line it will cover your backside too (Coat or Soho line both do for me and I am 6 foot).

Have posted various links before but these ones look like a good price.

Thanks, for me that link asks for a password though? Can you copy/paste?

I've just plonked up in FOR SALE an original Brooks Brothers brown tweed jacket.

All the details, swelled edges, lapped seam, patch flap pockets, 2/3 roll, natural shoulders, half lined, light herringbone brown tweed.

Have a squiz if you are interested in the great IVY jacket. The photos show up better on the Opshop site.

I think it's a toss up between the suede chukkas and the chestnut comfort craftsman boots.

I've got a ball coming up in two weeks. Does anyone know where to find a cheap dinner suit/tux? alternatively what are your thoughts on wearing a normal black suit with a bow tie or something like that to this event?

I'd definitely look at secondhand. I needed a dinner suit on relatively short notice a few years back. I took a chance on an ebay suit from the States. Picked up a 1997 Brooks Brothers bespoke in great nick for $200. Worth a shot.

Thanks for all the replies regarding the tux. I'll probably go down the second hand route first and hopefully find something. If not i'll try my best with what I have.
