I like the purple inner lining!

Yes, I thought it was a nice touch - The Armoury did that with their Carmina double monks on the Inca and I thought it looked really good.

Just a heads-up for the Aussie guys.

I'm about to list 2 things in the Mens Classifieds sections. PM me if you are interested and want first-dibs.

1 X Howard Yount Trouser Size 30 (100% Wool, Mid-Gray Nailhead) - Never Worn, Still With Tags, Unfinished. $120AU.

1 X Vass U-Last Punch Cap Size 42.5 (Dark Brown Calf, Single JR Sole) - Worn Once, Trees Included. $450AU.

I am selling the pants, as they do not fit. I am selling the shoes, as Vass recently changed Lasts from what I hear, and these shoes are too big for me (despite being the size which I have ordered religiously for the last 3 years). They would suit someone who usually wears 9UK.

Oh, come on Gerry. Don't be so casual about it - "By the way, I got these.." Ha ha ha smile.gif

Enjoy, mate! They are truly beautiful boots. Wear the f*ck out of them! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Guys, does anyone here have experience with Berensen Tailors on Flinders Lane (Melbourne) for alterations? I require several pairs of pants to be altered.

you're welcome. certainly, it's a nice to have but not worth the hassle to send them around the world, imo. actually, you'd better wait for a recraft/resole for a better economical ratio.

you can also try to order the plates. the installement is not the biggest deal in the world. afaik, a cobbler has to order a full box, iirc 250 pairs. this is a barrier. also, the plates come in different sizes and different shoes require different sizes and shapes.

i would ask nick at b. nelson, if he can send you some.

good luck

That makes perfect sense. I'll just go with the standard metal toe taps for the time being then.
