Quick trip down to DJs again (seems like my lunch walks always end up taking me there).

Seems like Joe Black the Tailor has occupied what used to be MJ Bale's section on the suits department in Melb CBD. MJB just shifted to the side a bit.

Getting good service, as in friendly and has some basic info on the suits, from the sales assistant (pretty sure she's from Joe Black and not really DJs) but still its a plus. Too bad I'm still just tire kicking.

About $750 (I think slightly less than that) per suit and you get 30% off if you buy 2. Half canvas, made in New Zealand I think it's Dormeuil fabric. I quite like the navy one they have in stock, it has an interesting shimmer when view on an angle. They're throwing in alterations as well.


Deal wise it's pretty decent for core suiting in Australia and you don't really have to fight over the last of the popular sizes on clearances.

I almost bought a suit from Joe Black until I discovered Azzaro. I think they make a pretty good product and the sales assistance who looked after me at the time was quite knowledgable.

By the time I made it to the Rhodes and Beckett sale they only had green pocket squares left, all the purble/lilac/blue ones had long gone. So for $9 I splashed out and got it anyway. It will work with some of my suits/ties but I MUST HAVE MORE POCKET SQUARES!

appolyon, would you believe that they were all in one plastic packet? I just grabbed the pack, paid and got out of there. There were still a lot when I left though (9:30am yesterday).

Hmm, did they have many of those Canalis? Any idea of the model?

Saw plenty at the last Melbourne SF meet up I went to...

I think they had a few sizes out the back.

Big selection of Church's in there, though seemed to be pretty limited sizing. I'm probably popping back in there with my partner after work, she wants to have a look at the ladies shop (could get expensive....)
