Thanks for this. Good to have a few options.

I hadn't heard of this shop when last in Adelaide. Not much to see on their web page, makes me wonder. The Facebook page is a bit of a mess and suggests more hipster with neo preppy tinge rather than Ivy.

I’d stay away from Ivy League if you are looking for a true ‘Ivy’ look. You’re correct fxh, whilst they have some good pieces ( basic crew neck sweaters from 3 over 1) that is about all I have ever been inspired to buy from there. They cater more to private school boys who want to say that they look preppy but are just following the trends as they come out.

Their Suit Co. offerings are dreadful and the opposite of the SF motto of 'buy less, buy better.’ as they fall about in under a year and cost 300 bucks. The styling of clothes that they do themselves is poor (see their facebook page for three button suits done all the way up and some of the most horrendous button down collar/ suit combinations in the world.)

The service is ok if you talk to Luke (the owner) all the others have poor product knowledge. My reason for knowing this is that I became quite excited when I first heard of the store and used to check it out quite a bit but now stick to places like RHD and the Internet instead.

Yep they are selling Grand Seikos. Not sure about Japanese domestic market Seikos however.

Well, since we all seem to be doing it, this is what I wore today:

I am in for the tie, but only the wombat design. The wattle design does not make the tie appealing to me at all. Reminds me of an "old boys" cricket club tie.

I think you said you are a student teacher?
Given your style and occupation you might find inspiration in the general area of IVY look. A smart look but a bit understated and not too dressed up. One of the few looks that works well as smart casual without looking either like some dork who just took his tie off for the weekend or an "individual" in sloppy jeans and athletic shoes with t shirt. Study the broad IVY look - not the TRAD old man side so much and i think you'll be rewarded.
In my short forays into Adelaide opshops and second hand stores I'd say Adelaide might be a relatively rich pickings, due to the wealthy ascendancy buying clothes overseas and offloading them at home, and almost non existent competition.
Heres a few links below. There are also some tasty books around.

Thanks for the comments fxh. The shirt/jacket/unstructured /knubby (tweedy??) cardigan thing is a jacket Country Road produced last season actually, sort of wishing I'd bought a smaller size now that I look at these pictures, but it doesn't fit too badly

Ivy was sort of my direction too, I appreciate the links and thought you put into the post. I'll look through them now.

EDIT: I have been into that Ivy League store before, but I will have to take another look. I suspect ludicrous price tags, however.
