Re tonight I'll probably be the first one there cause their is no way I'm staying at work till 6.00, so I'll be the bald guy with a beard in a brown grenadine (sorry, no burgundy grenadines in the closet yet) and purple spotted pocket square.

Tobias and myself are going to meet up near our offices and will probably be there by 6ish.

Hi gents – sorry, can’t make it tonight, only half packed and have a 8am flight tomorrow. Enjoy tonight, and will try to catch up when I return.

Excellent! I didn't think anyone had taken one. The guy in the middle was very well red, I think his username on SF is Bra-man ...

That's me on the extreme right and of course, fxh wanted to preserve his anonymity as Melbourne's premier secret shopper so he kept the mask on the whole night and then disappeared into the shadows.

On second thoughts, maybe adjourning to McDonalds in Frankston afterwards for coffee wasn't the best idea ...

No worries and completely understand. I'm happy to order some for stock as well just need some interest in people buying as well so I dont end up with too much dead stock (with no obligation to buy of course). I'll note yours down and do a heads up next time I'm placing an order and gauge what people want. Would you say that fairly conservative colours would be what you'd be interested in most (navy/grey etc)?

Cheers
Jason

This need not be restricted to the world of menswear, but I'd just like to get a feel for what everyone thinks constitutes it and to see if a consensus emerges as to what it is.

I'd probably be in for a couple of both navy and grey if they are wool.

Charlie... Can you pls start importing ArtaSeta ties from Italy... Please?
Sorry budgie, all ties will be made under my own label. Where possible everything will be under my own label. The socks are a bit difficult to make myself and the mins are too high for custom label though.

The maker I use in Italy are a small family owned company and I have a great relationship with them which in the short term I have no plans to change. They also make some ranges for the likes of Polo Ralph Lauren and Brioni to give you an idea of quality levels. They don't do much in the way of knit ties without high mins though so that maybe something else I explore in coming seasons.

I just bought a pretty non-conservative tie (for some reason, just looking at it makes me smile) and was wondering what you'd pair this with. Based on meeting some of you yesterday, I think a lot of guys here already have a pretty well developed sense of what works.

My thought was to make sure everything else I wear is plain so as not to compete with the tie, e.g. navy suit, white/light blue shirt and white or other plain pocket square similar to how a patterned jacket can be worn with the Italian background.

I'll obviously experiment when it arrives but thought I'd throw it out to the group and get your thoughts.
