Good find Ernesto, if the Saturday Age wasn't $5.20 in BNE Id read it much much more, the Courier Mail is yet to pay its readers to read its rubbish, which leaves only the Australian!!!  Yawn.

The Fin Review is quite a fun read when stuff happens - like DJs going to schitz.

As for the BrOgg!@ - I kind of dismissed it when it turned into a list of 'secret' cafes 'Uber trendy' restaurants and 'mystery' shirt makers described in cute broken engRish!

You forgot the exhaltation of fixed-wheel bikes, over priced and overrated Rapha riding gear, and weak milky coffee...

I think Melbourne is actually quite lucky in the sense that there are many cheap street lables that offer many different cuts to people with a lot varying shapes, and despite other bits of clothing on their shelves being sub par their denim can be ok.
Besides this my personal favourites for denim available in Melbourne include:
APC- quality, simple and reasonable in cost, though the fit is terrible on me.

Where can you buy APC in Melbourne?

Incu on Flinders lane used to stock APC but I haven't been there in a while

'David Jones has to invest $70 million to $80 million to improve its service (which involves additional and better-trained store sales staff), overhaul its point of sale technology across its bricks and mortar stores and then build an online store from the ground up.'

I remember going into a DJs store several years ago and marvelling at how antiquated their POS systems were. Seriously, I don't think I've seen a Wang computer anywhere else (except for the Powerhouse Museum) since the 1980s.

It was pretty clear in the early 2000s that DJs needed to invest big time in upgrading their technology... Perhaps Prof B Bear or one of our other members that actually work for them could confirm if DJs are still catching up to North Korea on the technology curve?

Yeah... I lost interest once he moved away from classic style and went full-blown SW&D Orchard.

Nothing wrong there; one has to make a living after all. Just not my cup of sartorial tea.

Best of all was his series of posts on P Johnson Tailors.

Interestingly enough, because I used to bother hang out with Ethan at H'bone's QVB and Circular Quay stores, I got most of my style advice from the big guy, and not SF in general. And to Guido's credit, I also picked up a lot from his Brog. Good times...

Ah yes I've been meaning to check them out, cheers.

Also count me interested for the potential melbourne catchup.

edit : prices on APC at INCU aren't as bad as I thought they would be. Might check them out this week.

Know what you mean. I still check out his "Brogg" from time to time but it has much less relevance to me these days, especially as I don't (a) cycle, (b) live in Sydney, or (c) wear business casual at work.

Your trying to provoke me I know....  Hahah.  I promise I will not write about poor retailing models this week.  Am hear to enjoy others views and opinions and not rant on.  As they say, .."when I want your opinion, I will give it to you..."  hahaha.

Ok, guys, looks like there's a lot of interest in a Melbourne gathering of sorts.

What say we meet up at 6:30pm this Thursday, 29 March at Jwow Wine Bar, QV 243 Little Lonsdale Street next to the entrance to Strike on the corner of Lt Lonsdale and Swanston Streets?

If you can make it then great(!) otherwise, we'll have another catch up in a couple of weeks.

Sigh.

You Melbournians have all the fun...

Regular SF camaraderie...

Great Shopping...

Top-notch food...

And Carly Cheung from MKR is HOT!!!
