Geeky trivia: Kirk couldn't drive a stick in the old show.

I believe this is seen in A Piece of The Action - the episode where Kirk and Co wind up in a planet stuck in Chicago style 1930s gangster era. I believe Spock coaches him on how to engage ....."the clutch".
