Funny, I hadn't listend to Zepp for a while either, but right after I saw this thread I had an urge to hear that song. I think I went through all five versions of it I have on my iPod (original; 2007 Song Remains the Same remix; bootleg from their last real concert - Berlin Eissporthalle 7.7.1980, post Bonzo reunions don't count; live "How the West was Won"; Page/Plant "No Quarter"/UnLEDded CD)

I'd understand if they only put like half-an-hour of music on it. But ALS and T41 are both very long with many twists and turns (and my 3d favorite Zepp guitar work after Since I've Been Lovin' You and Bring It On Home), so there's plenty of actual music. Then again, you don't like long songs, so fair enough.

I loved that kind of stuff about Zepp. By that standard, you must've hated "Houses of the Holy," too!
(Note what album the eponymous song appears on.)

ADHD FTW! I was young then. But more later.

For some reason I listened to that one a lot but never connected like I did with I or II or IV.

Or Physical Graffiti, for that matter - but then again re: long songs, I really liked Kashmir and Ten Years Gone, and respected Bonzo's work in In My Time of Dying, even if I thought the rest of the song was comically over-wrought.

More likely I have ALS linked with Carouselambra, which I hated with a seething passion.

I forgot about that amazing guitar solo in the middle of Ten Years Gone, with Bonzo thudding in the background. Cheers for the reminder.

Different strokes I suppose. I really like that song, because it's so out of character. It foreshadows 80s pop so well.

During their No Quarter tour, while I was in high school (1995 I think), Page and Plant took the bridge from that song (the Pink Floyd-sounding bits) and wove them into something else. In the Evening, maybe? Anyone else remember that tour?
