(Crockett @ Feb. 25 2005,00:39) I love this jacket, but I just can't bring myself to pay the retail price for it: Zegna jacket
Ferragamo also does nice jackets for the spring, for slightly less: http://www.ferragamo.com/
This is one is similar to the Zegna. Ferragamo Maybe I will wait for one of the two to pop up on ebay one day. I just won't pay full price for one.

Does anyone know who carries Unis in LA?
Bloomingdale's in NYC stocks it as well, so is it safe to assume all Bloomie's stock it, if you even have Bloomingdale's in LA? Dan

Really? I've never seen it there. But Bloomingdales in NYC is really different from Bloomingdales anywhere else, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. My info was from the Unis people, so maybe they just don't know their accounts very well... hmmm But... Macys East and Macys West are different companies, technically, and Bloomingdales are subsidiaries of either, depending on location. Still, it might be worth checking Bloomingdales in the Beverly Center, if nowhere else...

It's worth a shot to see if they have it. The Blomingdales in NYC has a lot of merchandise that the only carry in that one store. A lot of that having to do with the sheer size of the building in NY.

This is the Bloomies in Soho I'm referring to.  I don't know if the uptown, major, original Bloomies carries the stuff--it may just be a Soho thing.  I tried on a really attractive royal blue track jacket that was on sale for $40 and I was VERY disappointed in the fit, which goes against what I've come to expect from Unis.  Maybe that's why it made it to the clearance section. LAGuy, I'm not sure if my post was lost in the hoopla, but on the previous page I asked about New Jeans and linked to some on Yoox.  Every hear of them? --Edit to say, Oops. Forgot what post I was in, so that above is a reference to the jeans thread. Dan

Hmmm, Never seen nor heard of "New Jeans". Maybe they are a division of "New Man" in which case, they will suck. But maybe not. Someone with the cash go be our guinea pig.

In my experience, Unis does great jackets, especially their overcoat, which is pretty much the same every year. The other stuff is a little more hit and miss.

You should check them out on Yoox -- links are on page 8 or 9 in the jeans thread. -------------------------------------------------------------- Hijack over - back to Spring outerwear. Just checked out the Unis site and they have a very very nice coat - white one with the pulls hanging down. I'd like to check that out. Also look into Coast, Weber, and Ahaus - or any single variant of such. They make some nice lightweight jackets. Anybody know an official website for them? Dan

That iPod jacket would be so much cooler if the pocket were on the inside with a small hole up at the top for you to run your headphones out of.

Any rec's for dressier jackets (but not insanely expensive; maybe <$300)?

[quote]Any rec's for dressier jackets (but not insanely expensive; maybe Aren't "jackets" inherently casual? Anything more dressy would be a coat, I think. What about something like this: http://www.apc.fr/us/en/fiche_articl...f=1C016611159H ? I know I want one. Dan
