I have a few Brioni and Italo Ferretti ties which I haven't worn yet. They're a bit long for me(I'm 5'8"), so I would like to have them shortened. TieCrafters(http://www.tiecrafters.com) offers cleaning, shortening, lengthening, widening, narrowing, retipping and relining services. Their charge for shortening is $12.50 per tie. I have eight ties which I would like shortened. @$12.50 per tie, that's $100 plus shipping. Fortunately I bought the ties on sale, but if they're too long they won't look good. If any of you have experience with TieCrafters, do they do a good(careful) job shortening and making various adjustments to the ties? Also, if I ever need a tie cleaned - do you know how they clean the ties? Do they use chemicals like those used by dry cleaners?
