Yeah, they probably stretched an inch or so. They were relatively tight when I got them and they loosened up after 10-15 wears or so. I did get mine two years ago but they have the same yellowline selvage as the new ones Mauro is selling, so I'm assuming the denim has held constant.

just got my Spurr pipe leg in sz 31 from Mauro and the waist fits good not tight ( I am 32 waist sz), but everything else fits very tight. I am afraid that the waist will stretch out more than other areas.

I got my 32's today and mine are about the same fit as your 31's. Not much diff between the 31 and 32 I guess. I hope the waist doesn't stretch on mine either. I also usually wear size 32. 30 in APC's. Weird.

I too got a pair of pipe today. Waist is great but they are surprisingly slim in the thigh area. Will that area stretch?

size 32: waist 16.5, front 9.75, back 13.5, thigh 10.75, knee 8.25, hem 8, inseam 34.25

I think I remember mine being fine in the waist and tight in the thighs as well. Rest easy, guys...the thighs ended up giving a little and fitting perfectly.

You guys. The leg and block will stretch a little. That's the way the jean is cut. The waist will not stretch out much at all. Given it's cotton the jean will stretch naturally.
the leg will give out.
Think of it as an APC but the waist doesn't stretch that much.

I think I should have gone with 31's instead of 32's. If anyone wants to trade their 31's for my 32's, please let me know.

pipe legs are in! a few observations:
  • mauro's right. these things are soft! unbelieveably comfortable
  • there's no sheen or excessive stiffness typical of raw stuff
  • they are a deep indigo, almost like a rinse
my opinion is that this cut may fit me better than any other pair of jeans i've tried on. it also leads me to realize, judging from the experiences above, that i have skinny-ass legs. they don't feel tight or restrictive in my thighs and even look better than my AJDH, which is now going to be my slumming pair. i got a 32 and i feel like it was the right choice. they're super-snug and it doesn't feel like they're going to stretch much, especially since they're not too tight anywhere. i could have squeezed into a 31, but then it may have looked/felt more like a skinny jean than the slimness i'm getting with the 32. oh well, enough with the words. (it's kind of nice to have a zipper fly again, too)
