I can't for the life of me decide which brogues I like better: These Tricker's:

or these Grensons:

Either one of the color combinations would work well with what I'm wearing / going to be wearing these next few seasons. I'm kind of leaning toward the Grensons (I really like the overall aesthetic with the contrasting leather soul and the black upper, plus the last looks great), but at the same time I'm drawn inexplicably to the quintissential Tricker's brogue.. Damn I may just buy both.

I like the grensons best. The black on black stitching/sole/midsole kinda thing makes me think orthodics or.... can't put my finger on it. I think if it was the leather upper straight on the black sole i'd like it but there is that extra bit of rubber that throws me off (like the difference between those and the shoes in the junya thread). The blacks are solid though. Look comfy

Yea, that's where I'm leaning as well. Normally I'm not a big fan of black shoes, but there's a decent amount of "color" in these because of the sole. They'll go well with the Attachment jacket I plan to buy in the coming weeks.

I'm a 9.5 dress shoe and I wear a 9, although they are an older made in Canada model so I'm not sure if sizing is the same. I have the Caribous and I only really use them for shovelling the driveway or tobogganing with my cousins. I can't drive in them as the sole is too wide and would get wedged in by the brake pedal.

^^Trickers look great, but grensons might just take it (because of the sole), which is surprising since im not the one for black shoes. Would love to wear both though, something like that is on my pick up list. I checked out some reddish Alfred Sargent derbies with a commando sole, looked great aswell.

Need a winter boot but don't want to spend more than about $150. Looking at the Katahdin but I heard they will slip on ice. Need something that will keep my feet warm, won't slip on ice, and look decent. Thinking about just getting a pair of the fur lined bean boots but I would like something that I could wear on normal days too. Might go cheap and try these out. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...eyword=diehard I'm thinking after an oiling they could get a little darker. Any suggestions/thoughts?

Don't get those they are ugly as sin. If you want a similar boot that looks much better get the red wing 875s.

ps

Everything will slip on a sheet of ice.

I come to the SW&D gods for guidance. First, I guess I should say that my style development is in the very beginning stages- I have one pair of jeans and one pair of shoes that I like; the rest, I'm not really attached to. I don't have any sort of "look" I'm going for yet.

So I need some sort of footwear that isn't a white sneaker. I'm leaning slightly towards a boot but could go with a shoe also. Something that would go with raw denim, khaki pants, and possibly grey trousers. Does anyone make a boot out of live chameleons? I'm 20 years old, so I don't want something that ages me. I don't need them for my job. I'm not into the "workwear" thing. Not a fan of DB's. Sleek is good.

I found these boots on ebay that I like, but I'm not quite sure about them yet. I like the color and the shape of the toe box. I like the top part, but I'm not in love with it.

Can anyone help a brother out?
