haven't seen them in person but the RW chukkas remind me of the timberland work boots that guys in my HS used to wear with baggy ass jeans. I think there are better options out there.

How is the sizing on those? True to size?

Loake won't age well, as its not full grain leather, but corrected grain.

The quicker way to do that to your shoes, is to hit them all over with ethanol and do things like soak them in water for two weeks and what not.

Thats what W+H do for the daytons, wrap them up and soak them in water, probably with a little bleach.

I'll be stripping my rm's, recoating matte black, binding them and chucking them in water for awhile, with dye to over dye everything black.

Then i'll get new leather soles put on.

How did these come out?

They, the LL Bean Katadhins fit TTS -- They are the business hands down. I need to get some Obenauf's or sno-seal for them though.

But, truthfully, those Alden Roy boots are so ******* HOT.. I need those in my life..

Throwing down a pic of my Iron Rangers for those on the fence between these and Katahdins. 6 months of heavy use, including a couple unintentional river soaks. I love these boots.
