Like I said, give out brands that are readily available everywhere. British brands aren't, trust me, I've looked and it is still pretty rare to go to a store and try those on.

Ok now youa re saying AE has ok leather, first you said it was awful. Big difference in those two. You didn't like AE and that really speaks more than how the leather and quality of that leather is. If you say it's awful, people here who needs advice might write it off right away but if you simply said you didn't like it, then that is completely different. I still think you are blinded by baller footwear by looking at quality, you are just not aware of it, you don't have to directly compare the two to do so. I mean look at the price range of AE and Wolverines and how much they go for when they go on sale or hits Nordatrom Rack and you'll see that they are more than enough for most.
At the end we'll just have to agree to disagree but AE and Wolverine leathers aren't awful for the regular joe and it is easy to get and return unlike British brands that stills seem pretty rare to see in stores and try on/handle in person. Pediwear and Herringshoe still requires ordering from overseas and returning is a bitch, lots of trial and error.
You may not have criticized all of AE but saying:
You can see where people will construe that as generalizing of the whole brand.
Anyways, no point in arguing though, no one is going to change your mind and I know what I've handled and owned (hell I'm looking at my pairs right now) so our opinions will simply stay as is.
