Fellas: I'm looking for a nice pair of solid walking shoes. Going to Paris for 10 days next month and for walking, all I have are some jack purcells and maybe some JCrew chuckhas.

I was thinking about checking out Camper, but wanted to know if anyone had any other recs. Not looking to break the bank.

I've checked out those Billy Reid moto boots before and wasn't crazy about them. In real life I thought they looked a little less sleek and almost work-bootish. They definitely fit the Billy Reid aesthetic, so if you're going for something more SW&D, you might be better off with one of the other options.

Picked up a pair of greenpoint boots by brooklyn bootworks through the brooklyn circus for $232 shipped (sale since expired). Short review here, given that there's next to no info online about this new company (their website appears to be down).

The form factor is a workboot similar to a wolverine 1000 mile but with a longer toe box and a commando sole. Material is a fairly supple, slightly distressed oiled gray nubuck. Vibram mini-commando sole is very nice, not too diminutive but with enough heft to feel like a real boot. Boot has 5 eyelets / 2 hooks rather than the 1000 mile's 4 eyelets / 3 hooks. I was worried about it being too big, but they fit TTS for me. You may be able to size down a half-size if you have a narrow, lower-volume foot -- my foot is right up against the vamp and sides. Heel slightly loose.

I'm really pleased with these -- I've been wanting a pair of gray nubuck boots ever since the Dayton fiasco, and also have been eying commando soles.

was going to mention dayton too since they looked similar-- material, looks, heck even the promotion is the same!! Too bad they only have big sizes left shog[1].gif

Can anyone recommend me some suede boots that are in the 200-300 range? Something like these alden's would be nice:

Thank you, I think you can still purchase this at retail at least

I really wanted to pick them up as well, but found no information.
That being said, this is one of the best posts on SF and highly under-appreciated. It's like why I bother posting in the Uniqlo thread foo.gif

SF needs more reviews like this instead of people bragging and bashing each other.

I bought these Cap toe ankle boots off of ebay and I tried to google them to find out some more information, but i couldn't find anything about them, I believe they are LEVINE PARK or something like that, (most of the name is worn off on the inside of the sole) it says "Hand made Italy" they are great boots, I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of that company or knows any other information about these boots. thanks

The problem is its rare for me to find it any of my locations. Even online. Also, the discounts I believe rarely happen and my size is pretty popular.
