My Grenson Christian's:

Working long hours in a restaurant can be hard on my feet and my work shoes/boots. I graduated years ago from wearing Doc Martins (they barely lasted a little over a year) to what you see pictured. I couldn’t be happier.

How do you like those Grensons? I felt the leather was too plasticky, though they were easily found for pennies during summer

i love my grenson christians too. did you get two pairs of the brown for when the first one dies?

233

Saw these on hypebeast today.. At ALDO? Interesting. I'm headed up there today for lunch, might as well swing by the store. And blue is only available in the UK, at least from what it says on the Mr. B site. Sigh.

There's a thread on MC about the Mr. B line, people who've bought them seem to be happy with the quality.

^ A coworker of mine just bought those Mr. B boots in cognac and is very happy with them. I think they're a pretty good option for those who don't want to spend the extra cash for Alden, C&J, etc.

how is the quality on these? are they actual stitched on leather sole, no glue job?

Blake welt?

Anyway, tried them on over lunch, boy are they stiff and will need some breaking in. They only had the Dark Brown and the Cognac? , of which the latter was the best color. Didn't have the Grey, and they said, of course, the Blue and one other color are UK only. Man, had they had the blue in stock, I'd probably have bought them right then. I'd love to see this boot in olive and oxblood (dark cherry, whatever) as well. The only other thing I would change is to stick a commando sole on them.

Do you guys think its possible to dye those Mr B shoes black?
I think you can dye just about any shoe black. The dark browns look black in low light, btw.

all the cool colors (as well as the Chelsea boots) are UK only frown.gif

Yeah, unless it's something really waxy, pretty sure going darker is never much of a problem

i need to see these in person, they seem ok but idk, sole in pic doesnt look that good
post #3914 of 5233
Eh, it's a leather sole. First thing I'd do is stick a vibram/commando sole on it anyway, so no worries on my end. I mean, if you're expecting a $600 Alden or $1200 Saint Crispin, you'll be sorely disappionted, but it appears to be a solid buy for $150-175.

I love my Grenson Christian's. The price was great on them so I got a backup pair (being in the restaurant business, I'm pretty hard on my shoes/boots). I tried to get a backup in black, but had no luck.
It didn't take long to break them in and they are very comfortable.
