Can't believe you fell for that toasty.

So I bought the bayfield captoe boots on the recent lands' end deal. I sized down a half from my typical sneaker size knowing nothing about AE sizing and just going with standard boot sizing being slightly large. Lengthwise they seem fine, but the toe box area is rather tight width-wise. Will the leather here break in and make it more comfortable or do they simply not fit? I will say, though, that they look awesome and I'm quite pleased in all other respects.

Finally received my SDs...

 

the slope on those looks bigger than most SD I have seen. Is it just the angle of that photograph?

Maybe it's the camera angle...here are a couple pics with a better angle.  BTW I'm loving the evo of the leather already, have only worn them 3 days.  These are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn.  The leather is soft, the boots are heavy, and the construction is unbelievable!

I was not sure about the tapered/sloped heel style myself, but they are growing on me now.  You also have an option of customizing the boots on White's website and order a block heel, which is straight and not sloped.

ivada -- the tapered heel is supposed to be more comfortable than the block one. Is that your experience?

Ah okay much better. Those are great! I'm clearing out some of my boots now due to sizing issues and needing the money, but if in the future when I up buying another pair of boots, I will definitely buy a pair of SD.

Those look really weird ... the shape is so awkward and stumpy. With a heel like that you need a more elongated toe.

Whites are so ugly.

Real rap they're ugly.

White's SD are beautiful boots. The camera distortion and/or sizing is making that pair look a little odd.
