i think its a rip off between barneys being $450 and luisaviaroma being $714, normally suede is cheaper from what ive seen, so why $264 more... maybe custom order... oh well

Barney's is generally cheaper in such things because they can buy millions of a product (Butteros are about $200 under normal at Barney's) and likely pay less per because of it

Get the Butteros, I was referring to Shoto when I was talking about the unimpressively soft leather.

Maybe he's talking about how they're treated.. it definitely feels different from most soft leathers, more of a surface sheen to it maybe? Or maybe it's cause elk has more of a grain to it? Dunno.. but I will say it is a lot more flexible and comfortable than some of my other leather boots. They also use the same leather for the lining as they do for the outer, which isn't too common.

Sinn,

They have the Shoto side zips at the union square store. I felt them and the leather was very soft. I was in a hurry so I didn't get to try them on.

Felt like imitation leather, was extremely thin, wouldn't put any stock in its durability
