when you wear shoes, your feet heat the shoes up.
when the shoes are warmer, the leather is more malleable.
so if you remove your shoes after wearing them for a while, the leather forms to the absence of a foot in the shoe and it changes the shape.

Also, cedar shoe trees absorb nasty foot stank.

Feet sweat alot. Sweat accumulates and eventually rots the leather and makes the shoes stink. Cedar absorbs the moisture and prolongs the life of the shoe. It also minimizes creases since the shoe would be filled in.

Hey I don't want to start a new thread for such a small question, but could any of you recommend me a nice casual pair of boots? I'm looking to stop wearing sneakers all the time, and I was really interested in Clarks beeswax Desert Boots, but it seems I can't find any available. So is there any other recommendations out there?

^You can get Clarks DB's in Beeswax from Get Outside (www.getoutsideshoes.com). They're based in Canada, so you'd have to pay to ship to the US, but they have 'em. I tried to order a pair from a Clarks dealer in the fall in beeswax, but they said there wouldn't be any available until last December. So, you could try your local Clarks dealer/store and see if they can order them for you. Of course, there are lots of other great colors in Clarks DBs - I like the all black suede, and the brown suede personally. Also, there is a thread specifically for Clarks DBs around here - so you can check out more there.

I've been eyeing them for quite awhile and now that the weather has turned, I finally have a good reason to order them.
