nice lookin boots^^^ if they hold up as well as they look that would be sweet and altemp, Aldens come in narrow sizes, some so narrow I don't know how people fit into them. But that's worth looking into.

Those white Tricker's are v.nice.

A good source for custom made Tricker's is shoehealer although I have never dealt with them. I purchased my green's ( a few pages back) direct from Tricker's. I do know they charge approx £100 on top of the off the shelf price for custom orders, colour, leather, sole changes etc. It seems a bit cheaper through shoehealer....

Been eyeing Tricker's brogue boots. Need some guidance:

I like the 'commando' treaded sole:

, but am also considering what they call the 'Dainite' sole, which I'm guessing is all-rubber but flat/less treaded. this would be ideal.

I want an all rubber sole and not leather if possible, and probably the 'danite' smoother sole. Not a huge fan of the crepe sole they just released.

Can I get some guidance on the sole terminology on these and any experience on the types and their performance? This would be for casual and sometime casual/work wear.

Not trying to be insulting, I was looking for ideas on how to upgrade my non-work attire but a lot of people here are listing some pretty nice shoes, so I am a little confused.

My Frye Brando inside zip boots arrived today. Got a great deal on them from Bluefly. Two little thoughts. 1. I've never owned Frye, let alone any boots, they feel tight, hopefully the footbed will stretch a little bit. 2. Can't help but question if I should have plunked down more for the Brando engineers. Those seem a little more utilitarian, more my style. These ones are certainly nice, but I worry they may be too nice to want to wear very often (around town, with jeans, etc.)

Dainite means the bottom has a bunch of large rubber nipples. If that makes any sense. It's good in the rain and meant for pavement. Commando is better for stuff you won't find in the city. Leather is going to be more comfortable overall, but it has poor performance in the rain.

Frye's are the ****. Best boots you'll ever wear. I've worn my pair of Harness 8Rs for a couple years now. They will stretch a little and form perfectly to your foot. Absolutely not to worry, it takes a minute or so to put them on the first few times, but after that, they will be perfect. The darker mahogany colour that your pair are means you'll likely need to wear darker denim with them, but they aren't too dressy that you need to wear something very deeply indigo. They're great shoes. Word of advice: Take care of them. Use the Frye butter one or twice a year to keep them soft and healthy. These will last you forever if you care for them.

My Trickers came with a leather sole, but switched them out for a flat 3/4 rubber sole and full rubber heel, which are the exact thickness that the leather was. They are grippy, yet still sleek like a leather sole. I like them a lot. I can take a photo of them when I get off work if you think that would help.
