Audi A4 - Page 2

I have a 2007 S4 Avant... It's great. No real problems with around 30k miles on it. I will second the notion that a good dealer is very important to the success of your Audi ownership.

Also, I like the navigation that comes with it. I'm sure you can try it out for yourself before deciding, though.

TThe 2009 2.0 Turbo engine has been completely redesigned and makes something like 58 lbs/ft more than the old one. In fact it makes more torque than the 3.2 V6. 2.0T - 211hp, 258lbs/ft 3.2 V6 - 265hp, 243lbs/ft My choice would be 2.0T quattro manual (once it becomes available), probably in the mid level "Premium Plus" trim, since the desirable options like LED running light are not available on the basic model. What bothers me about Audi USA is that they are starting to severely limit the model choice as well as engine/transmission configurations compared to Audi Europe or even BMW USA. A manual transmission option is offered with any engine, body type or drive wheels on BMW in 1,3,4, or 5 series while AUDI just has A3 2.0 FWD or A4 2.0 quattro as the only two non "S" models where a manual transmission is offered. I like wagons but the new Audi Allroad or the new S4 Avant are not even being imported. The 2009 A4 Avant is not available with manual transmission or a V6 engine.

cool, thanks for the info. that should help performance a lot. i agree that their choices are painfully limited to a fault. at least the A3 will now be available in 2.0 quattro......but only DSG....and the 3.2 quattro is DSG only, too.......

I know! This is a travesty. I would consider trading up on a 2010 S4 Avant manual if they sold it, but I don't think that looks very realistic.

Also, by the numbers, about half of the S4's on the road today are manuals even if you account for Avants which might trend towards automatic, so there is definitely a market for manual Audis.

i leased one in 2001 for 3 years. i had the 1.8t which i don't think they make anymore. i could spend a couple hours writing out everything that went wrong with that car while it was still under warranty.

the last month of my lease i bought another car and was driving that around, the audi just sat in the driveway -- i've grown to hate it. the day i gave it back i was as happy as the day when i picked it up. kinda sad, but i will never get another audi product.

i'll never forgive them for not bringing the RS6 avant over here.

the 09's are only 3.2 auto's right now. I believe the manuals and the 2.0's are coming this spring?

A friend had a new '06 A4 2.0T. Key word is "had". Electrical issues out the ying yang and Audi refused to fix them under warranty. I also have a coworker with a 2007 A3 2.0T, and that thing has been in the shop 3 times in the 15k miles that he's driven it. Nice cars from a performance standpoint, but I'd never touch one due to reliability issues.

Nope, the 2.0s are already out (in the US) and I just bought one a week ago. Obviously I can't speak to quality issues yet but performance is great and I think it's gorgeous, especially with the LED lights in front.

I agree! Here in Australia it's the same story. The only A4 with manual transmission is the 1.8.
