I know that 200 years back in the past is prehistory for the USA. Nevertheless, France has been existing for more than 1200 years... So we are able to look back in the past more than 50 years if we want to see what France has done during wars. I would even say that in the past, war was the true war. Winning in the past was more significient. You needed to be more intelligent, more strong than the enemy. Now you can bomb a country for 2 months from boats/plains which are 2 000km away and force the enemy to resign with no real fight (look at what happened in Serbia) or worse to bomb with an A bomb (look at what happened in Japan). This is not war. Who knows what would be the USA in 1 000 years? May be a chinese colonie crowded of blacks?...
